Dean Martin...LOL...

Kansas City, who lost 106 games last year and needed a furious run in September to even qualify as a Wild Card have also moved on to the Divisional round, sweeping the Baltimore Orioles.

I like the Royals, but now I gotta turn my back on them.

Royals beat Orioles.

I feel your hurt. But the best team wins. To state the obvious. As a KC fan historical when the Royals were great the Chiefs were terrible. It's like a sports see saw. Makes me wonder about the subsequent season play for both teams.

my dad went to one of this series' games at Tiger Stadium. I have the official Tigers World Series scorebook that you could buy if you attended. Glad Dad bought one. Great memento
I grew up a Cubs fan. My best friend was a Cardinals fan. I remember him gloating when the Cards went up 3-1 in the series. I hoped beyond hope that the Tigers would come back (so deep was my hatred of the Cardinals). When the Tigers tied the series and it was clear Gibson (who was the winning pitcher in games 1 and 4 and whose ERA that year was about 1!) would start game 7 for the Cards, he guaranteed a win. I ran home from school to catch all of the game i could. When the Tigers scored three runs in the seventh inning off of Gibson, i started a letter to my friend. I added to the letter in the eighth inning. I finished the letter in the ninth and triumphantly walked to the mailbox two blocks away (my friend lived three houses away from me!). It was the very first letter i ever wrote! Four days later, my friend's mother told me the letter arrived "postage due" and suggested i should pay her six cents. I had no idea what she was talking about! As a seven-year-old, i guess i didn't even know i needed to put a stamp on the letter!

Why weren't you in school, Clement? That game was on a Thursday. I distinctly remember coming home from school, turning on the TV with the Cards getting shut out. Mike Shannon hit a homer in the bottom of the 9th for the Cards. It was about the thing the home fans got to cheer about.
