The last time I had anything to do with baseball was 1993..I was at an Indians game and Jim Thome hit 2 home runs in the game...don't even remember who was playing...I had taken my church pastor to the game...he had never been to a baseball game...he was younger than I was...nice guy...6 months later I was packing up my car and heading to Florida to live......we were in the outfield and one of the home runs was pretty close to us...still remember his face...like a kid that saw something for the first time...he left the ministry a year after I moved to Florida...his wife and 3 small kids couldn't survive financially so he went to the private sector...he moved to North Carolina and I never heard from him again...a couple months after I reached Clearwater..I was leasing an apartment and there were some minor league players from the Phillies living in the complex...these weren't the wealthy bonus players...they were trying to make it to the "bigs"...they would lease a 2 bedroom apartment and 6 players would sleep there...one advantage was a lot of baseball groupies would come to the pool...awesome looking 18 to 20 year old girls...I would go to the minor league games and sit out in the outfield and drink beer...when the Major League Phillies would come for Spring Training...I would go to a couple of games..you wouldn't believe how many Philly fans came to Clearwater for Spring Training...local restaurants would put Philly flags in the windows...

Sorry... TDLDR. I tried.

@beerking . Ive consulted with RickyPicks. He says Pats by 3.
Enjoy your game. A Lifetime memory

My bucket list is to see an event at Wembley. Preferably a rock concert
Thank you
Never seen a rock show at Wembley
But I have seen many at Wembley Arena.
BB King , Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton and John Mayer to name but a few.
Them were the days 🤩

It's funny how most of the best relievers on every playoff team this postseason have big failures. The Cleveland guy was almost perfect in the regular season and is awful now.

Yes, I was just mentioning to a friend that the four remaining teams appear to have really suspect pitching. Perhaps MLB heard me bitching about how baseball is boring and told the pitchers to go out there and throw a few fast balls right down the pipe...and hang a few curves while you're at it.

Clinty is talking about BASEBALL. So by definition it is supposed to be TOO DARN LONG.
It's OK AR...I understand my posts aren't for everyone...no problem...I try to incorporate my personal experiences in some posts...to be candid I envy people that have computer skills...like that post by esimms86 about Dak..post 8510...but Sonik managed to read my post 8508 and I was rambling along on that one and he even gave me the coveted LOVE rating....maybe it was because I mentioned Gos in my post...oh well...I better stop now...the words are piling up

By the time I figured out what your abbreviations meant, I had already read Clint's post twice. lol You missed out, it was an awesome post.
It seems my initial response was due more to my short attention span rather than content or length. Yes, Mr Eastwood's posts are most always a pleasure to read.

Thank you...but please call me Clint or Clinty...

Week 7 2024 NFL game previews

4-1 Lions at 5-0 Vikings (-1.5), Sunday 1 p.m. ET, FOX (Adam Amin and Greg Olsen)

The Vikings had an extra week to get ready for their biggest test of the year to date. Did the Jets provide a blueprint for slowing down quarterback Sam Darnold, or was the sputtering in London the product of a very good New York defense?

Running back Aaron Jones is questionable with a hamstring injury. Without him, the offense is very different. (The arrival of Cam Akers via trade with the Texans could help, if Jones is hindered.)

The Lions have scored 40 or more points in consecutive games for the first time since 1962. With a win, they’ll be 5-1 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1933-34.

Although the Lions have won three in a row against the Vikings and four out of five, the Vikings are 21-5 in the series since 1998.

1-4 Titans at 4-2 Bills (-9.5), Sunday 1 p.m. ET, CBS (Andrew Catalon, Tiki Barber and Jason McCourty)

Titans quarterback Will Lewis, questionable for the game with a lingering right shoulder injury, leads the league with 10 turnovers. He has at least one in every game this season, with a nine-game turnover streak dating back to last year. He has had turnovers in 12 of his 14 NFL starts.

Last week, he played like he’s concerned about getting benched; maybe he will.

The Bills have added receiver Amari Cooper as they play on a short week after beating the Jets on Monday night.

The 4-2 Bills don’t play a team that currently has a winning record until Week 11. This is their chance to fatten up their record.

5-0 Chiefs at 3-3 49ers (-1.5), Sunday 4:25 p.m. ET, FOX (Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady)

For the 10th time ever, the Super Bowl teams have a rematch the next regular season. The Super Bowl winner is 6-3.

The more important trend for the Chiefs are these: coach Andy Reid is 21-4 after a bye, and Patrick Mahomes is 11-1-1 as an underdog.

For the 49ers, rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall, who was shot Labor Day weekend in a robbery attempt, will make his NFL debut. The 49ers won’t have receiver Jauan Jennings, who’s out with a hip injury.

Thank you
My son and I are really looking forward to it.
He has really got into American Football 🏈
I get to see the Pats after 40 years of following their fortunes.
Who will prevail?
Say something like Green Bay vs. Kansas City? That would be a nice match-up for you guys!
Hope you enjoy it regardless....

I know a lot of you watch college football...and some from the midwest follow the Big Ten(18)...when NIL(name image and likeness)first came out I was against it...too much money given to athletes...and that still needs to be adjusted...I mean when kids in college are making more than the starting QB for the Niners in the Super Bowl...that's kind of crazy...BUT....there are 2 things I like about it.....some players will come back instead of leaving for the draft and they might actually graduate....the other I have seen this year...it levels the playing field for the teams that can't compete in recruiting with the BIG NAME schools...they can get 4 and 5 star recruits in the Portal and turn these programs around quickly...

Indiana has basically been down for years...now they look impressive...new coach and new players...earlier this year lowly Vanderbuilt beat Alabama...that QB didn't start out at Vanderbuit.

It's possible that the Big 18 can be as good as the SEC...existing teams like Indiana getting so much better.. plus the addition of Oregon..Washington..and USC make for a bright future...and if UCLA gets their act together they will be a good.
