I had 3 land this morning Hawkwind, Van Morrison & Soft Cell. I've listened to Space Ritual, next is the Van Morrison - Moondance, It will be a surprise for many I'm sure that I've never heard it before, anyway it's sounding great, the little booklet inside has a write up from Steven Wilson about how he has mixed the album into Atmos and it all makes sense. also on the disc is Elliott Scheiner's 2013 5.1 mix.

Yes, it's the default. I tried the pcm stereo too and that sounds far better!

That's fine, it's all down to personal preference.
I'm happy with the Atmos mix.

Not exactly personal preference to have an Atmos mix with only two channels! I should state that I don't yet have an Atmos system, but every other Atmos mix has at least given a good presentation in 5.1.

SDE has been a damp squib so far for me. The only one I have is Tubular Bells and that has a messed up transfer of the quad mix which is the only mix I wanted. I have Def Leppard on pre order, but Paul Young is another pass for me. Quadio has been more of a hit for me, though with difficulties of shipping and taxes from the US and reduced range from the UK store (which meant I missed out on Paranoid).

I agree. I was just about to leave a similar comment saying, it would be nice to have a couple of releases for artists that were successful on both sides of the Atlantic. I get that SDE is a UK company and therefore a lot of the legal wranglings necessary to bring these to market are easier to accomplish for acts based in the UK, but I can't talk myself into buying the majority of them.

This 100%. I'm a hard pass on most of these releases.

Maybe some type of group buy strategy would be helpful? There's sometimes UK releases where I get punished in the same manner (vat/shipping/exchange rate, etc). I don't do enough international shipping to know all the proper means for custom declarations, but I'd imagine there's loopholes and acceptable risk for lower value items like surround discs. Might be worthy of a separate topic/thread?
