Hi, all!

My name is Patrick Milligan, and I'm Senior Director of A&R at Rhino Records, and part of the team bringing you our series of Quadio releases for Rhino.com. I work very closely with Steve Woolard who is a longtime friend and colleague, and a longtime member and poster on this forum. I've followed and read the forum for awhile, but finally decided to sign up. Thanks for having me!

Cheers! We are all excited to have you on board, and hope that you post when you have new news, or just want to ask questions now and again.
We are all pretty thrilled with what has been issued in the Quadio series thus far. The Warner Music catalog has some very strong quad album titles as you know - good surround mixes / fine sound quality.
Here's hoping that not only all of the great 70s quad mixes, but some (or all) of the later 5.1 mixed material from the vaults gets reissued as well.
Lots of potential for the series.

Hello Patrick and Welcome! We are honored to now have two "big wigs" from the prestigious WEA/Rhino groups here (I believe a "first" for QQ!) Other things we would like to see from you guys are Bluray releases of ATMOS mixes that are on Apple Music, like Chic's catalog!

Hello All. I am most certainly NOT a "big wig". Just Ian, a gent who enjoyed surround decades ago but didn't have the right room to connect up all of those wires again. When my girlfriend moved in and brought back the two speakers I once gave her, it occurred to me that 2+2=4, and now with today's Bluetooth wireless capabilities, quad and 5.1 were once again a possibility.
I've been reading reviews on this site of various releases and appreciating everyone's input. Having only set up surround this past weekend, I've been taking nearly every bit of free time I've had to play every disc I own that's in quad or 5.1. And rather than write anymore at the moment, I think that's precisely what I'm going to do again now...

Hello, everyone! I'm a new member here. I've recently immersed myself in the world of Atmos music, and that's why I decided to join this forum. It seems like a fantastic place to connect with fellow enthusiasts, share valuable insights, and engage in enlightening discussions. I'm looking forward to being an active part of this community and sharing my passion.

As a token of my enthusiasm, here's a picture of my room

Gotta let us know what sounded especially great with the newly developed 4-chan surround. I love 70s quad as much as 5.1, and sometimes more depending on the album and artist of course.

I’m not sure how I missed this when it first appeared, but it’s definitely nice to have one of the movers and shakers in the discussion. I’m certain most of us want to hear a lot more from you going forward.

Hello, Ian, and welcome aboard! Everyone has a starting point, and although mine was half a century ago, it was more meager than yours, so I have faith that your interest and passion will grow for a long time to come. Just watch your wallet - this stuff is addictive!

Very nice room - definitely Scandanavian, which is a good thing. We have a pretty good bunch of people here, most of which are pretty informed about goings on in the surround sound world, so I expect you’ll both learn a lot and share a lot.

I visited Finland several years ago, and loved everything except the mosquitos, which seemed to love me. 🫤

Oh, don't I know it already! Luckily I have more surround discs in my collection already than I even realized. But I've quickly been grabbing some I don't want to totally miss out on, and that's adding up quickly!

I have to stop buying now though and find me some more time to listen!

Hello! I purchased my first surround title (DSOTM blu-ray) in the first lockdown (when I was only in year 7). I remember initially preferring the 5.1 mix to the quad, but that was only because the 5.1 was less discreet and adventurous: I grew to prefer the quad over time, but I still find that my preference for discreet versus tepid switches frequently! (Since then I've pre-ordered the LIB and Tubular Bells surround blu-rays, and pre-ordered Wet Dream which should be coming later this month and will be my first Wilson disc, thinking of Court of the Crimson King too.)

Hello all. I am a new member. I have been a long-time audio enthusiast and collector of music. I only recently completed assembling a vintage audio system (including returning to vinyl after a very long break) and am interested in putting together a surround system and/or quad vintage system (if that makes sense). And, that's a big reason as to why I am here - to learn from folks with much more experience in this area and, hopefully, become a better participant. Thanks for having me and cheers!

Vintage quad certainly makes sense! I haven’t shopped for any gear for a while, but I imagine it’s out there, and some of it is (might be) affordable.

I’m sure you know that quad vinyl was the Next Big Thing fifty years ago, so “vintage” is an appropriate term. If you can’t find out the things you’re curious about, you can reply to anyone here, start a new thread, or PM someone who has commented on your topic of interest. But hang on to your wallet! This hobby is addictive.

Bon giorno! And welcome to a pretty nice group of people who can give you lots of advice on how to spend your Euros,

Been reading this board for a while and decided to join to participate in the discussions. Long time immersive audio enthusiast. Not old enough to have enjoyed Quad in its heyday, but I was into all of this when Laser Disc was the video format of choice and Pro Logic entered the hobby in the 90's. Currently enjoying a modest Atmos setup. Looking forward to future discussions.
