Welcome!Hello all. OCD surround sound audiophile from Down Under Australia here.
You came to the right place! Welcome!Hello Quadramaniacs!
New here, but I am a LONG time vintage audio collector. I run my own YouTube channel, same as my forum name. I came here seeking someone well versed in Quadraphonic knowledge, lore, history, etc.
We have several knowlegeable members. I’ve been a quad listener since the 1970s. I’ve seen several links to old technical articles posted here, so it’s worth asking or searching.Hello Quadramaniacs!

Cool name Mr. QCQ. Loving my LD's as well.Good day, everyone! I've some minor experience with codecs and numerous quadraphonic setups. I love 3-D movies and surround sound. I am a LaserDisc collector.
(That felt like introducing myself in elementary school. )
Thanks!
We have many common interests! I put up with lousy blacks on my TV because the 3D is so good!Good day, everyone! I've some minor experience with codecs and numerous quadraphonic setups. I love 3-D movies and surround sound. I am a LaserDisc collector.

I used to have a small LD collection back in the day. I’m guessing that most LD owners have two players. Otherwise, it’s a very sad day when your player succumbs to the inevitable(usually a motor failure?). The large disc platter used to concern me as an unavoidable design issue.Cool name Mr. QCQ. Welcome QuadCity! I too share your 3D mania, and I strive to keep my 3D rig wheezing along despite its current disfavor & forced obsolescence. My frontline AV system is 7.1, and that just has to be good enough because I'm not going to tear up ceilings again to struggle getting more speaker wire run & speakers hung. I clench my jaw and wonder why there's not even ONE mfr that won't continue making a 3D 65" flatscreen just to claim the niche of die-hards like ourselves who will claw our way across the rope bridge to keep 3D (& quadraphonic) viable in our AV lives! Finally taking steps to get Atmos capability, although I’m pretty sure my LaserDiscs won’t tickle those drivers. I have a lot of concerts, ballets and operas on Laser that I sure don’t see available on the smaller discs.
I’m not sure if it claimed to be quad, but I have an old SVHS hi-fi recording of Beethoven’s 9th from when Guilini took over the LA Phil.OK I call myself OneEye apparently that's what my last name is if you're a viking.
I would like to see symphonies in at least quad simulcast on stereo TV and one or several FM radio stations. Not really interested in 3DTV but might be if you can simulcast it to home TV
