Eric Clapton - Layla 40th Box Set (yet another ES mix!)... That's it, 2 boxed sets in one night... I'm spent.

Another ES mix that's better than the SACD, but the chasm is greater for this one. This one REALLY smokes the SACD.
Too bad it hasn't been released in high-res yet. They had a perfect opportunity to do so with the "Layla" HFPA Blu-Ray a few years ago and didn't.
Total opportunity blown! But we already knew that… ;)

With my luck, it will be released next month for a small fraction of what I just payed!@:
Seriously, though, its ridiculous that they put out BDA discs and leave the surround mix sitting on the shelf!

I agree, but at least I think they only did that for that album and for Diana Krall's "The Look of Love".
Other than those two, I can't think of any other HFPA titles that were released just in stereo and lacking surround mixes that already existed.
They got the message from myself and several other disgruntled surround fans complaining on their Facebook page all the time.
After all, that's what the internet's there for, right? ;)

Let's hope not :) I am amazed by The Yes Album, should expect no less with this :)

A new Magenta album, Songs for the Dead, but no surround mix this time out, from anything I've seen!? That's a disappointment; they had seemed pretty consistent giving us 5.1 mixes.
