I just got notice that Best of Bread SACD has shipped!

Shipped from where or who? All shipping is not equal. I got shipping notice on Bread and 3 other SACDs but the gave me no tracking number and CCM & ImportCDs are both known as the worst for fast delivery. Great prices but not the hottest delivery times. Did you get a tracking number?

Amerzon. Was on backorder for quite some time.

Current orders I'm waiting on:

King Crimson - Thrak box

Sly and The Family Stone - Greatest Hits (AF Quad)

Looking forward to down the road (just for starters):

King Crimson - Beat, Three Of A Perfect Pair, and any other KC for that matter.
Roxy Music - S/T album, and everything else we can get.
Yes - Tales From..., Going For The One, Tormato, and hopefully some '80s and beyond.

Hopefully next year we can finally get at least "Beat", "Three of a Perfect Pair", "Tales from Topographic Oceans", and "Roxy Music". All have been remixed (to an extent) so hopefully it's only a matter of time. (Also hoping "For Your Pleasure" can be mixed and released in surround next year too!)

As for more from King Crimson and Yes in surround goes, if Fripp wants albums like "The Construkction of Light" and "The Power to Believe" mixed in surround, I bet that's a job for Jakko as SW's role finished with the remixing of the 80s albums. And with Yes, missing tapes, personal tastes, and sales potential will determine if any more remixes happen after the remix is released for "Tales".

The King Crimson Thrak box,Yes Fragile cd/Blu ray set,XTC Oranges and Lemons Cd/Blu ray set,Gentle Giant Octopus Cd/Blu ray set and the Jethro Tull Too Old To Rock and Roll Too Young to Die Cd/Dvd set.

My waiting list is exactly the same, but with Opeth Damnation/Deliverance too! Thrak and XTC are still showing as being released on 16 October, so hopefully the list will start turning into "listening now" soon

Just pulled the trigger on these babies and I cannot wait to hear them:

Paul McCartney & Wings - Band On The Run - DTS CD (sure it's missing a few seconds from the title track, but I have it on The McCartney Years DVD Set so I don't mind)
Chicago - Chicago - DVD-A
Elton John - Tumbleweed Connection - SACD
Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade - SACD
Billy Joel - The Stranger - SACD with 5.1 mix
Billy Joel - 52nd Street - SACD with 5.1 mix
Labelle - Nightbirds - SACD
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Henry’s Dream - DVD-V
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus - DVD-V

Pre-Orders placed for:

Yes - Fragile - Blu-Ray
The Beatles - 1+ set with 2 Blu-Ray discs
The Velvet Underground - Loaded-Reloaded set with DVD
Sly & The Family Stone - Greatest Hits - SACD
Simple Minds - Once Upon A Time - Blu-Ray
Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song - AF SACD

So I've basically chosen to do one large order before the Holidays and so I've added these to yesterday's pile:

The Doors - Strange Days - SACD
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - SACD (I know the Blu-Ray sounds better, but I admit only liking half of the songs. The SACD allows me to program the ones I want to hear.)
Elton John - Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy - SACD
Queen - Greatest Video Hits - DVD-V (2 disc set)
Deep Purple - Machine Head - UK 2003 SACD
Bob Marley - Legend - Blu-Ray (Bob Clearmountain 5.1 mixes)
Bill Withers - Live At Carnegie Hall - MFSL SACD
Van Cliburn - Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 - RCA Living Stereo SACD
Fritz Reiner - Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade - RCA Living Stereo SACD

Apart from one or two that I might stumble upon, that'll be it for 2014. I love doing my Christmas shopping early! :D

:yikes ;)

If the half you like includes Bennie & The Jets, Candle In The Wind, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting.. I guarantee the less familiar numbers will grow on you once you've let the 5.1 get under your skin... :)

Personal 5.1 highlights on GYBR were always Funeral For A Friend, This Song Has No Title, I've Seen That Movie Too (Davey's wah wah guitar solo flies and floats right over you, its amazing) Sweet Painted Lady (oh we do like to be beside the seaside.. with the surround mix it feels like you're there), All The Girls Love Alice (Ray's insane tambourine and the siren sound effects at the end crazily panned everywhere.. what a hoot.. and so good to hear extra little bits of Kiki's backing vocals that were only faintly in the old stereo mix brought up in the mix), Roy Rogers (more sound effect fun but this shows how lovely and intimate 5.1 can be even with a discrete aggressive surround mix) & Harmony (that magic vocal blend of Davey, Dee & Nigel in 5.1 surround.. heavenly).

I know it sounds sacrilegious to only like half of such a classic album, but to me this is another case of wishing it would be a tighter single album. Because of the radio stations I grew up on, I no longer ever want to hear Bennie & The Jets and Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting. Like you, I like the deep cuts so Funeral For A Friend, This Song Has No Title, I've Seen That Movie Too and Harmony. After having "discovered" the Elton John, Honky Château and Madman Across The Water albums, it's difficult for me to go back to the poppier and fluffier material of that double album. I still wanted it for the cuts I really like and because I found a copy at a good price.

You're in for a treat! They're pretty much the best surround-y things on the SACD(s) I reckon! :D

Jamaica Jerk Off (while musically a load of old bollocks) is great in surround too as you can imagine.. there's lots of little extra vocal bits (again I won't spoil it because it's so nice to discover these things for yourself but there's one bit where Bernie comes in out of nowhere and grabs your attention.. that most definitely never made it to Gus' stereo mix back in the day! You'll see.. or rather hear soon! :p )

The release date for the Oranges and Lemons and the Thrak sets have been changed to the 30th according to Burning Shed btw.

Well, much to my surprise....I totally forgot I pre-ordered Oranges & Lemons.....until I got an email today from Burning Shed adjusting the ship date. Hell yeah.....I truly didn't remember ordering this one...now I have additional to look forward to.

Romantic Warrior - Return to Forever 2ch Japan SACD
I had this on order back in the day with both Music Direct & Tower. Both claimed it was in stock, but neither could fill the order. My most sought after SACD, and it's on its' way...
