Wired / Jeff Beck (SQ LP).

Interesting one.. presuming/hoping it's genuine (kosher even!) described by seller as an Israeli Quadraphonic pressing and does appear to be 1.) Made in Israel and 2.) Quad.. we shall see! :D

Cool looking Israeli disc, Adam.Looks like a ligit SQ DISC

BTW If you buy BLOW BY BLOW on line, ensure the SQ disc is indeed inside. This includes all sealed copies.I purchased an SQ BBB disc for someone new sealed and from a prominent/trustworthy retailer, but a stereo copy was inserted inside by the manufacturer.Easily done too as the quad sleeve indication is a blurred part of the front sleeve's art.

Buyer beware!!

III may be Santana's best album. I've owned this on 2 different SQ LP's, Q8, CD, expanded CD and 2 CD Legacy edition. If you dig this, you must also get the 2 CD Legacy edition. My biggest complaints with the SQ are the lack of bass response and the gatefold was made into a single sleeve. The single sleeve Quads were also done on Caravanserai and Azteca, which were gatefold sleeves in 2ch.

Thomas "Coke" Escovedo and Neil Schon are much of what makes this album so great.

One of my 100 favorite albums and an ESSENTIAL Quad.

Relieved to know Wired is a cool Israeli Jaffa and not a bitter lemon!

Thank you for the advice! I will be sure to ask around before I get JB's BxB SQ! :D

Bad news Quad Linda,

I went to pull out BORBOLETTA SQ disc to give it a spin, as per your pleas, and it was gone.
I culled some of my quad discs about 15 years ago, and that one appears to be one of the losses.

Rationale for the cull is two fold;

-the increasing number of sacd and dvda 5.1's at that time.
and
-discs I found I never listen to anymore.

Oh well my loss, maybe AF will put on Quad SACD.

If your searching the bins in used record stores Adam, watch out for this one, look twice if you blink you could miss the quad emblem.
Hard to find CHICAGO SQ DISC.20150713_192933.jpg20150713_192927.jpg

And this one you should check the spine for quad indicator, but I would also do a physical view of the vinyl.20150630_194422.jpg20150630_194414.jpg

Left channel on 1st two tracks of Side 1 is clipping like crazy too, according to Audacity..

Hmm, Audacity shouldn't really clip unless the input level is too high, the soundcard is overloading, or the pre-amp is overloading etc...

Right.. I'll look into it over the w/e if I get a min. It may be more than just coincidence it's those two tracks on that side of that record in particular that are clipping as that side is noticeably louder and brighter sounding than the other SQ LPs I've t/fered via Audacity so far.. it was a new and sealed LP so it can't be damage to the record, can it!? ..a bad pressing maybe? I haven't adjusted the input level on the M-Audio interface.. curious!

PM me some screen prints. Whole side, then zoomed to 1st track, zoomed about a third of the first track, zoomed to about 10/20 secs of first track.
