Oh ! You didn't have that one....I just need Flag....hardest one to find at any kind of a reasonable price !

..it all evens out.. I got Flag for £18.. but had to pay £28 for October Road! :yikes
I've been outbid every time on Oct'r Rd.. so I went for a Buy It Now from a top-tier US seller I've bought quite a few things from now. at least I didn't get clobbered by customs (for once!) :D

I know you'll still get it anyway, Rob.. but Flag is the worst of the lot, imo.. EQ'd too bright.. it's the weakest album of the lot that got "SACD-ised" (for me, anyway) and the surround mix is the least effective/engaging of them all.. I don't know what went wrong/happened with Flag as the rest of them are fab and most of them are stunning! The surround discs of "JT", Hourglass & Dad Loves His Work are unmissable if you're into these things for aggressive mixes and jaw-dropping fidelity!

I paid more than £28 for October Road....more round the £40 mark I think ?? :yikes

I've heard you mention about Flag before. Musically I don't it I like as much as the other albums, and that's why i'm in no rush to buy it, besides the cost !!
I bought all the other JT albums new from EliteDigital....a small fortune !!

anything over £20 is still too much for what's essentially a fancy schmancy CD! ..but whats the alternative? wait in perpetuity and get sniped all the time at £21!?

we're a long time dead and you can't take your cash to the grave with you! I've had to stretch to £40 (and very rarely £50) for some of the SACDs I really really really wanted.. most of the time its been worth the daft outlay the discs are great.

was your Oct Rd new? one I got today is used (still in very good nick though, "like new" really).

Slowly building the Genesis collection...

Duke is on its way too...

Well if that disgusting MFSL/MOFI company would have included the surround mix on their SACD, the original SACD would be very reasonably priced.

oh, don't get me started on that bloody lot!!

just think of the surround discs we could have had from them (and as you rightfully say like the James Taylors', all the surround mixes that could be back in print now thanks to them!) over the last few years if they weren't so gung-ho about stereo only SACD....

I'm hoping Music Valet will do what so many of the other boutique audiophile labels have failed to do and bring out of print (but still in demand) surround mixes back into print, while creating new mixes that every surround music lover can buy and enjoy. I'm very excited indeed at the prospect of what Richard LaBonte has planned for Music Valet.

How do you like the Nat King Cole? I've been considering that one. So far the only Nat I have is the 2-disk SACD collection Nat King Cole Story that Analogue Productions put out a year ago or so. Is Welcome To The Club worthy of purchase?

Haven't played it yet. Was too busy spinning DVD-A's & old fave CD's in the convertible I bought yesterday. Wanted to hear it in hi-res. I'll let you know when I do, perhaps tomorrow. I liked the AP Cole's, all of which I bought.
