And there are quite a few Silverline "losers" as veteran QQ members remember all too well from the early DVD-A days... !

Yes - Luckily I've avoided most of those... e.g. the "Live from the Parking Lot" series...;)

I bet there are more Silverline winners out there that you don't have...

The Big Phat Band DVD-As are great....(y) You have Swinging for the Fences I presume? Act your Age?

You're right, there are bound to be, I'll keep my eyes peeled round here and see what's hot and what's not! :p

Yes to Swingin' Fences, No to Acting my age! is the latter a DVDA? I've seen it around on fleabay etc as a CD + DVD set but never taken the plunge without knowing quite what it is! :D

Oh did I ever learn the hard way with Silverline DVDA duffers before this site was around!@:

I only kept about a half dozen before I joined QQ.. I've got a few more since then with QQ-ers help and recommendations (but not many relatively speaking!).

OOH NOW THIS IS GOOD!!! Superb fidelity (DVD-A @48/24.. some kickin' low end going on!), great music & arrangements and the surround mix is terrific!

Do any QQ-ers have it? What are your thoughts?

Good album. Only problem is some of the tracks don't play on the DVD-A layer with the Oppo 105. All of the tracks play fine on the other tracks, including DTS 96/24, so all is not lost.

I discovered it does the same on my CA651BD (to all intents & purposes an Oppo BDP-93) & posted 3 back here << (#3391).

the DTS shows as being vanilla not 96/24 on my AVR.. still sounds good and all the tracks play fine :)

The DVD-A track does playback correctly on the Oppo 83 though. Just depends on what player you are using.....

A.I. Artificial Intelligence Soundtrack - John Williams (DVD-Audio).

Its a good DVD-A soundtrack, recorded at 88.2 kHz - its only drawback is the large amount of noise from an A/C or heating system and some HF noise like a quartz digital clock beating against other frequencies present or something. Consider it Tice Pulse Technology added for free!

i got the Pink Floyd Dark Side Immersion box set today and the 1cent ProArte Shure HTS Stereosurround demo CD also arrived and sounds wonderful. The Shure process had the best fidelity of any of the Dolby MP equivalent matrix systems - they have a clarity and fidelity that even Dolby's encoders can't match, due to, I believe, the precision 20-20kHz phase shifters and Shure's superb engineering.

Art of Noise- Reconstructed.... for your listening pleasure SACD
Great mix and contents, love the spoken interludes makes it more human..
but this one is one DARK sounding SACD, had to boost the treble and still nothing...what a pity...

oh dear.. it sounds wonderful.! (the A.I. DVD-A I mean!)

I got the AI DVD-A NEW for about 2 Euros a few years ago (it was a bulk sale from my fave store in Madrid, he got rid of all his DVD-As..got a few gems there..America's Homecoming, kd langs' Invincible summer, ...and the Dead's "Workingman's Dead" which I traded too...sorry)...traded it right away with a fellow QQer...CAN'T STAND JOHNNY WILLIAMS!!!! ugh!
I get rid of stuff that I don't like....my collection is VERY special to me...
Some stuff I wish I hadn't sold like Muse's "Resistance" box set, but it just rubbed me the wrong way and at least it has a good home with a fellow QQer...
I mostly lose during my tradings but sometimes I get "lucky"....
