I just ordered 2 copies of the Daft SACD, so if/when they arrive I'll keep one aside for Scott M4 (if you still want one) and whoever else wants one. They're £10.99, so whatever shipping to your part of the world is etc, the usual routine, though I'd like to wait til I actually receive them before getting serious :)

Why that's mighty kind of you Fredblue! Yes, please contact me when they arrive. [email protected] Thanks!

Classics - Tchaikovsky (DTS DVD-A).

Had it years ago and got rid of it (not 100% sure why!?) noticed it had since dramatically leapt up in value, so when I found it again the other day for a fiver I went for it.

For ref., its this one:

Edit: This also came in the mail but I forgot to add it here.. :)o)

Mobilize - Grant-Lee Phillips (Hybrid SACD).

Stereo only, so no biggy from a QQ P.O.V. but I'm looking forward to hearing it :)

Is that the same model keyboard Soft Cell used for their Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret album?

No, the Series III Fairlight didn't appear until 1985. Dave Ball used a number of analog mono synths along with a NED Synclavier, a similar music production behemoth to the Fairlight :)

However, there is little popular music that didn't feature a Fairlight between 1979 and the mid 90's. The list is vast! :) My particular machine was used on Tears for Fears stuff, mainly in the composition of their third album, 'The Seeds of Love', as well as being used extensively on Bryan Adams album 'Into the Fire'. It's probably been used on a lot more stuff as Ian Stanley was highly sought after once TFF broke the big time with 'Songs From the Big Chair'.

I'm hoping that we can recover most, if not all, of the data on the gigantic 190MB Winchester HDD that was still inside, as well as the raft of 8" floppy disks and the Datasettes too.

You can follow the progress of the restoration over on my blog...

Wow, cool...
As far as I know, the Synclavier II (which was based on an Apple Mac , the 1st one with a -huge-NEC color monitor) is STILL sought after and peole like Pete Townsend still use it regularly...

I am not familiar at all with Fairlights at all but, Synclavier did a GREAT job constructing the keyboard, the buttons were the ones used on freakin B-52 bombers, which btw are STILL being used and are getting a rehauling...

XXL - Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band (DVD-Audio).

That's the last of the Silverline DVDA's with decent 5.1 mixes (afaik) that I wanted, any future Silverline's I pick up will be fresh discoveries of good stuff or cheapo crappo I guess :)
