Thanks, I just don't know the answer.Markie, do you have two copies installed? If so the program might see a registry entry and get confused. Sorry, this stuff is aggravating.
I'll do a deeper dive when I get home.

I miss playing the original TROPICO on XP. Those were the days. . . .Windows 11..ha?....I'm still using windows XP, thank you very much!
The instructions for how to do it are on the websiteDvd ae is easy to get a new key for.
YouTube is full of ways to install Win 11 on "unsupported hardware". I did it on my older pc, it's 6th generation Intel. Got a Win 11 Pro key off Groupon for like $12.I would like to put Windows 11 on my 2015 Dell Inspiron 17 laptop but it fails the upgrade test... How rude!
I'd go back to Windows 7 in a heart beat if I could get supported hardware and software for it eg. web browsers, drivers for modern peripherals etc.Anything after Windows 7 sucks. That wasn't difficult to figure out and just to see if I was the only one who felt that way, I researched online...do that and see what you think.
Yes. See the answer to this question, esp the part about re-downloding the license from your account. You shouldn't need to buy DVDAE again.Dvd ae is easy to get a new key for.
you're supposed to 'copy to clipboard' that machine ID (which is the ID of the machine you are using) and paste it into the 'assign to machine" box for the license then hit 'Assign'Failed- Did as support said and wont recognize PC ID, stuck on old PC ID? I think?
Good enough to get close, story of my life.
Sent another support ticket, will see what they say.

Thankfully that hasn't been my experience. I use Win 10 for my server and Win 11 for the three PCs connected to it.Anything after Windows 7 sucks. That wasn't difficult to figure out and just to see if I was the only one who felt that way, I researched online...do that and see what you think.
Agreed... Windows 11 has been fine for me (with the exception of the 24H2 release which screwed up my networking). After deleting all of the Windows and ASUS bloatware from my laptop it boots up in around 15 seconds, which is much faster than any of my Windows 10 laptops.Anything after Windows 7 sucks. Networking seems to be MS's achilles heel. 24H2 did not screw mine up, but subsequent updates did on one machine. Changed the static IP to DHCP for some reason.Agreed... One of the Windows updates changed my static IP to DHCP too. It's working much better now though.Networking seems to be MS's achilles heel. 24H2 did not screw mine up, but subsequent updates did on one machine. Changed the static IP to DHCP for some reason.
