Hmmm...

Perhaps I'm missing out then.
I probably started dismissing all the so called Yes remasters with all the garbage put out in the past. (How about that SACD box set that sounds for all the world like mp3 copies?)

So suspicious...

Do you see audio content above 24kHz which would prove it's a HD tape transfer and not an upsample of a previous lower def digital release?

Whilst actual content above 24kHz would indeed prove it's a proper transfer at high resolution, the lack of content above 24kHz will certainly not prove the opposite.
What you will get from any transfer is what is on the tape, no more & no less.
BTW, there are multiple versions of this "original" version too. One with Dolby NR, one without and the sound is totally different on each one.
Finally there are unannounced extras on this one........heh heh heh

Yes, it's the CD/DVD-A according to the links posted on Yesworld.com
Don't know why it's not showing preorder options right now, but amazon's been doing some weird things lately, so best to either hold off on ordering from there, or go with Burning Shed or Headphone Dust.
Amazon.ca is showing the same outrageous price. I used that link on Amazon's page: Would you like to update product info, give feedback on images, or tell us about a lower price? and told them about the Burning Shed price.

Amazon.com seems to have no idea of what they are doing with this title. Something that looked like it might be this release appeared several days ago. I put it into my "shopping list" but now it shows up as a $54 import from Japan without any details. Hopefully, this will get cleared up in the next couple of weeks.

The same thing is happening with Oranges & Lemons (XTC).

WTF AMAZON!!!! Get it together. I want to pre-order this fucker.

DAMN YOUTUBERS NEED TO WATCH THEIR PHRASEOLOGY!
Besides that however, this clip sounds great IMO. This remixed clip has less compression and more clarity than the remastered CD that I know most well, and yet it still has the energy and drive I have come to expect. Listen and judge for yourselves! :)

Also, Steven Wilson's notes on the remixed clip from his Facebook page:

The official Yes site has posted an extract from my forthcoming remix of Fragile (listed as a “remaster” on YouTube, but this is incorrect - it’s a remix from the multitrack tapes with no mastering applied). With an album as well recorded and mixed as this one the stereo remix is essentially a step along the way to the 5.1 mix and as faithful as I could make it, but it has been included in the reissue along with a flat transfer of the original 1971 mix. There are also a number of bonus tracks mixed from the reels for the first time, including a remaining fragment of song given the title “All Fighters Past" which incorporates themes later used in Roundabout, Siberian Khatru and The Revealing Science of God. This was found at the end of a reel that had been reused for a later session, but fortunately not completely erased.

When I played that clip I couldn't help but start grinning. Did you hear the guitar there!? Oh Yeah!

Yes just commented on a post on Steven Wilson's Remixes Facebook page which said this:

Hey Steven Wilson Remixes . You and me and everyone here would like to ensure that we report accurately, so in order to make sure we get the facts right, would you be kind enough to write a piece about your experiences remixing FRAGILE, and we will publish it verbatim as an exclusive on the YES website as soon as we receive it from you, at the same website link as the existing album feature. Please email to [email protected]. Thankyou!

I love this idea! Let's hope Steven participates! :)

I think Steven may be busy. We should just be happy with what we are getting and not ask for commentary.

Which remastered CD do you refer to? It's been remastered a dozen times (it feels like, though really more like 4 or 5). Some are far more compressed than others.

Well - went ahead and pre-ordered the Blu-Ray Audio via Burning Shed. I really cannot wait to hear this and I'm sure it will blow the doors off my DVD-A....yet I always did enjoy it as well to be honest.

And the spending spree continues....
