After insisting on a single shipment of the bundle and explaining why it generates extra costs to customers overseas (service fees for the carrier for collecting customs/VAT for each single shipment) and then complaining after getting two shipments like most or all others I now finally got an answer from Rhino Service that they will refund the fees for both shippings.
Fair enough!

Well I recieved ONE (Paranoid) yesterday and the kick in the nutz, it was shipped from the same state I live in (NJ)....
Got the speakers wired up, unbox the Sony and tried to listen to something.
Guess I'll have to read the owners manual of this 5.1 reciever 🤣🤣 after I get back from PT this morning

I think with the Canadian orders , Canada Customs Tax CRA probably sat on these deliveries awaiting an order from HQ to tax or not to.
This I think delayed delivery of these disc's.

FWIW I got my two bundles all 8 disc's in total, last week Thursday, on my two orders from June 23rd , which were shipped the following Tuesday.
I anticipated 3 weeks and sure enough , 3 plus 2days.

I don't think this should be a future problem, as I'm to understand that Rhino CA is now up and running.
Which means we will get deliveries sooner....as they will be in Country.

Anyway I hope most everyone in Canada has their disc's by now ?
No tax was applied to mine!

While making my last post, my mail lady delivered the remaining 3 discs, shipped from Rhino in Cali, where as my first was shipped from So Jersey.
2 out of 3 had broken cases, but the disc were unbroken, but all 3 only produce static???
Iam so confused 😕
Sure isn't easy jumping back in the home audio world after 50yrs.
Are these Sony units known for having issues? Iam it was "only" $300.....as I was thinking in today's world it would have been a grand for a SACD player

For a little levity, @GOS, this is for you and all the Sabbath lovers in this thread. I was out and about and looking for free WiFi, when I came across this.

Quick update on my situation: finally, after threatening with opening a PayPal dispute, I got some feedback from Rhino support. They said my two missing items are pre-ordered (?) and will be released and shipped to me on August 3th. Unbelievable.
I really hope the order will be fulfilled with this.

I received an email a few weeks ago that said the other half of my order would ship on August 3, with tracking numbers. This is also the same date as the UK release date for B$B and JS. I also received another email saying there was a glitch when they first inputed the titles as preorders, and no, said the email the system can’t change the date. They corrected to orders a couple of hours later on June 23 early morning PST with the right artwork. Evidently, this is why some of us got everything at once, and others have not.

So, 4 more days to go. I don’t like waiting, but it should ship. I do want to support this program. It sounds like a lot more releases are coming. And the discs are great sounding.

I ordered Day 1 & got all 4 quite quickly.
I then whined about missing the discount code & 4th of July sale (which effectively would have covered shipping costs)
After reading about all these nightmare stories about stock & shipping issues, I guess I know what to do for the next batch - order Day 1, pay the shipping costs, and don’t complain!!! 🤐

I’m still waiting for paranoid. According to the UPS tracking it’s moved about 100 miles to LA and that’s it, been stuck for weeks now and every version of tracking numbers leads nowhere. I’ll give it till next Monday to get here and then start asking about it.

I made the order on day 1, and despite that, I'm still waiting for the shipping notification and the blu-rays. :)

We are interested in how long these are taking to get where they should be going. But you've declined to enter your location in the member field.

But welcome anyway to the forum.

Thank You for the detail! I wasn't planning to replace my Yamaha receiver, but may consider. I don't have BT, don't have ATMOS or Wireless. I'm really not a fan of how the newer Yamaha's look at all. Maybe time to find a used Yammie 106, 1070 or 1080.

Due to differences in the running time between the stereo and quad versions, the Alice Cooper disc is authored differently from the other three. All the tracks are in a 4.0 "container", so the stereo tracks are actually encoded as quadraphonic but with silent rear channels.

It sounds like you've been bitten by the same bug as several others: For a time (hopefully it's not happening any more!) there were chips being installed in equipment that had no clue what to do with a straight quadraphonic signal. The symptoms are exactly what you reported in your other post: Sound only coming from the front speakers.

It would be nice if the disc producers would create their titles as 5.0 or 5.1 since this issue seems to be somewhat widespread, but they don't seem interested (or simply don't understand why it's a problem for some). This is definitely not peculiar to Rhino.

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is either buy new hardware (!) or use computer tools to extract the audio from the discs and "remix" the 4.0 material into 5.0 or 5.1 with silent center/sub channels.
If you throw enough $$$ at a problem it can go away!
I "fixed" my 4.0 playback problem by getting a new receiver. I was able to purge Analog 7.1 inputs from my needs by properly configuring HDMI playback of DVD-A on my Denon DVD-758. Now any DVD-A or copy or homebrew or even DVD now gives me surround through HDMI. My Sony S780 BD already does surround in HDMI, and does SACD-R as well.

I put some of this up in one of the Receiver threads as well, but I considered the Marantz Cinema 50, the Denon X4800, and the Yammie A6A, and took a ride to SafeandSound HQ to see up close. They had good open box deals on all 3 units, and tried real hard to get me to buy a new Cinema 40 for a steal of $2800. In the end- I really couldn't deal with the small-ish displays on the Yamaha and Marantz, and grabbed the Denon AVH-X4800.

I spent Saturday afternoon connecting and configuring. My Sony BD remote decided to crap out on the directional buttons so I still couldn't play my Quadios in surround until I bought a new remote(which showed up Sunday). I now have everything playing properly, and can finally play B$B's in surround, as well as my other 4.0 discs. I have my streaming Internet Radio and Server playback working. The only thing I need to work on is playing back vinyl and recording it to my soundcard in my computer.

Rock on!
Chris

Sure, I have all 4 of my Quadios, and have had for quite some time. Like others, I had a decent amount of drama wondering when they would arrive. Now, out of morbid curiosity, I have ordered another copy of Paranoid as my original copy arrived with a badly cracked case. Rhino didn't offer a replacement, rather simply a return for full credit, or keep it and receive 25% off what I paid.

I opted to keep it and get 25% off. In the meantime, I still want an umblemished, unopened copy. Which, is why I ordered another. Plus, I wanted to see if I get this one faster and with more shipping detail than previous.

So far, the whole process is behaving similarly to the first order I made. Yet, I did learn some things the first time....use UPS as your tracking method at first. If I use UPS, it tells me the package is in Kansas City, and will be delivered this coming Wednesday. If I use USPS, it tells me it's still in Carlsbad, CA.
And when I tried to track my shipments, the tracking numbers didn’t work. I work in Logistics for a living, so I know how to track. I’m in Canada and UPS sucks here, so maybe that’s it.
Anyways, I ordered both Paranoid and Billion Dollar Babies on June 23 at about 4:00am MST, and just got my BDB today. My Paranoid came about 2 weeks with a scratch on it, making one song unplayable. Rhino refunded me after I sent them a pic, and I’ve ordered another.
As I’ve said, I work in Logistics and I find that 5 weeks from California to Canada is absurd.

Responding to my post above. I ordered another copy of Sabbath as my first one came with a smashed case. I ordered on July 18th, and my new copy arrived on July 27th. And, it too has a smashed case. So, I'm waving the white flag...LOL!

Welcome aboard.
Like you and many other Canucks we waited quite a while for our stuff, though 5 weeks is bordering insane. Anyway, just in case you're not aware, Warner Canada actually have Paranoid and B$B (the two titles I also ordered). Unfortunately many of us found out about the Canadian site after we placed our Rhino US orders.

Here's the link, if you weren't already aware: Warner Store

I'll be going this route next time unless they don't have all the titles I want. BTW Amazon US now has them listed for pre-order but so far nothing on Amazon Canada.

It’s August 1 so I hope/expect my two “preordered” discs to ship before the end of the week.
I too may try WMG Canada for the next batch
