Quad mixes of America's Homecoming and Hearts were released by Audio Fidelity. Curious if quad mixes exist for their debut and Hat Trick.
Homecoming wasn't a '70s quad mix, it's a new 5.1 version that was mixed by Elliot Scheiner in 2001. That said - in addition to Hearts, Holiday was also released on CD-4 LP, quad 8-track, and reel-to-reel in the '70s.
Your points are valid, Owen, but hybrid SACD's can be played, in stereo, on any standard CD player, anywhere. How many car systems, for example, are there that can play BD-A's?
I know we're all having fun asking for our favorites, putting together a wish list, hoping for this or that to be released, but I want to point out something that we all probably know already.
Remember, Rhino AKA Warner is a record company wanting to make money on the releases they choose. I'm not sure some of the suggestions we've all made would live up to that. Remember what's been released in "Quadio" in the past -- Aretha, Chicago, Doobies. All huge selling artists. Makes sense, right?
Not to disappoint anyone, but my guess is these 4 releases coming up will likely fit that same profile.
And I'm ALL IN for that formula!

Hey guys(1). Being a STEM person, I can't help but to do these calculations. These new Quadios at about $30 a pop are much better value than the original CD-4 releases. When the CD-4 versions came out, the list price was $6.98. Figure on them selling in a store like EJ Korvette for $5.98. In 2023 dollars, that is about $41. That was a lot of coin especially for a college kid working part time.
Now I do realize that for that extra 33%, back then we got oodles more for our money. Specifically we also got clicks, pops, wow, flutter and best of all that CD-4 carrier whistle which manifested itself from time to time.

Well, hope the speculations ends ASAP so they can take the preorders.
One WB title that is still missing on digital is the USA QUAD MIX for Deep Purple Machine Head, we do have the 5.1 and the UK 4.0. Very unlikely for now, a release for a unreleased quad mix of Burn would be a lot better.
Well, maybe. I personally have bought two copies where the cover says “quad….” but the record does not. And the decoder doesn’t put a lot in the back. So, sad to say, I have NO IDEA how to get a quad version of this sausage.Probably confusing it with The Wurst of P.D.Q. Bach. Seriously, though: that album had an SQ vinyl release on Vanguard (and an unreleased QR). Some tracks are double-stereo, I think--but if Warners wanted to license that compilation from Concord and release a Quadio version, I'd be all over it!

Fantastic news!! All of the bands & titles mentioned here would be great titles to have.
I know I won't be alone but I'm buying all 4 regardless. I have to believe Rhino will have made great choices for us to drool over. No question about it!

And since none of us want to be left out on these limited releases, the sooner, the better. We want to get our orders in fast! I had to buy the Chicago set off Ebay, fortunately not at scalper pricing. May not get so lucky if we miss out on these.
