I guess cdjapan have got a problem with their distributer ??? Pain in the ass, all the same !!

I suspect it's due to the exclusivity deal with FNAC, which will rumble on until September... nobody other than FNAC will retail these discs, nobody will buy them, the trial will be a failure = BONKERS :(

I'm quite sure Amazon could not care less about "missing out" on these BDA's, exclusive or otherwise.. but imho Universal needed Amazon on-board for this trial.

what clout does FNAC have outside Europe? Not a lot.

If Universal had opted to trial these through Amazon.fr at least there'd be potential extra sales to every Amazon.com, Amazon.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.it (et al) shopper/account holder..

..as it is, anyone outside France is at the mercy of Fnac's way of doing things (3 days to process an order, expensive shipping costs, etc).. BLAH!

Daft.

I would guess so. Looks like we won't see them in the U.K till Sept, at the earliest ? Crazy to give the " exclusivity " to FNAC. Do they think they'll make more money this way ? Not using Amazon ( as such ) is a major balls up !!!

I'll be looking forward to your post regarding the UK releases and dates.

I ordered Supertramp through Amazon.de the email I got from them is that they will notify me when available.

I got the Rolling Stones GRRRRRRRRRRRR.... from Amazon UK in blu ray back in Jan I think. so I'll order them from the UK if they are available. Can you find out if this 5month thing for FNAC includes no release in the UK til then. thanks.

47 DTS cd, 29 SACD 2 blu ray 15 DVD-A and 3000 redbook cds.

It looks like your best ( and only option ! ? ) is to order via www.fnac.com

I've been watching this Pure Audio campaign w/ a skeptical, yet slightly hopeful eye. I have little trust in record co.'s, but I thought if they just got a few 5.1 discs out and they did significantly better than the 2.0 releases, maybe even record co. execs could see the light. But as I've seen things develop, I have less and less hope that this will become a boon for surround enthusiasts. The horrible marketing- so little info released, the fact that titles w/ existing 5.1 mixes are being released in 2.0 only, and now this seemingly ridiculous exclusive launch... I didn't think my opinion of record co.'s could get much lower, but WTH?!?!?! Why exclusive? Why France? Is it possible Universal's France division chose to underwrite this venture and Universal will only continue if that country's results are sufficient? If they're producing this discs already, why not make them widely available and get a more thorough gauge of the response? It just makes no sense, even allowing for the historical ignorance of these co.'s.

I'm not even gonna follow this anymore; I was eager for some reviews of this 1st batch, but why bother? Even if they get high praise, it's still unsure if we'll ever get them in the States- even if we do, who knows when that may be? Way to garner excitement over a new format- frustrate the hell out of your potential customer base. It's hard to believe so many treasures are in the hands of such morons. Why is it that Irony seems to be one of the guiding principles in Life?

According to what i've read on Bluray.com Costco'll have exclusive selling rights on these discs eventually.
