Thanks fredblue and I'm glad I joined. More than happy to share anything I find out.

Indulging in a serious listening session of «L'Aigle noir» -Barbara. This is fabulously detailed and rewards a close listening session in the same room. Clear menu system like the Brel disc. Big, rich separation of the material with heart-stopping presentation of strings. So glad I picked this one up.

You may have already said.....but what titles did you buy, culabula ? Were they mainly French one's ?

Gainsbourg
Brel
Barbara
Bob Marley
Getz/Gilberto

I would have bought the Miles Davis, but as was to be expected in France, it was totally sold out, as was Coltrane.

Have a mate on the Champs now in FNAC getting more copies of Brel and Babs and possibly Davis.

I think it's worth pointing out again that anybody reading this who is a FaceBook member and wants more 5.1 on BDA ought to join the http://www.facebook.com/HFPureAudio1 group, so that you can add to the weight of feeling about surround. They only have a few hundred likes at the moment, but whenever the group owners make a status update, about 50% of the comments they get pointedly mention 5.1 - I'm sure they must be sick of it, but that's kind of the idea.

I guess they may be fed up of the 5.1 comments, but the more people that comment and like, the better !! I would buy more stereo titles, regardless of whether they're in 5.1
Come on guys & gal(s) join their Facebook page !

Well of course, I already had the Stones for a few months now as that was not part of the FNAC-exclusive wave of releases.

As more or les anticipated, the guy on amazon.fr is passing stuff off as SA-CD when its only CD. It arrived this morning, comes in a promo-like simple sleeve and is decidedly redbook.

why not try Seiffen for the Mario Lanza Living Stereo SACD.. (Seller also lists stuff on eBay from time to
time.. but not this one you are after, you'd have to buy thru their own page but its all PayPal protected etc.).

like I said the other day, it will be the right disc; their listings are accurate, the items are as described, almost always sealed and at decent prices and postage good too. I've bought a fair few Hi-Rez/5.1 things from seiffen and recommend them highly.

wow! The Coltrane BDA's sold out!? You can still get the SACD for RRP!@:

these blu-ray's are doing very well indeed..! I'm delighted..!!!! :D

Oh, I've been going apeshit on there about getting some 5.1 BDA's out of this deal.. Facebook is good for something after all..

Yes, it's probably an OCD thing, on my part ? Have to list it. :)

I'm particularly OCD about my SACD.. and I get into a right diva strop over DVDA..!! :p

ok, so blu-ray audio prediction time..

My crystal balls all warmed up..

On the basis that the HFPA Facebook page has now referred to Supertramp just today (and like the Stones disc, thats already out there!) I reckon we can safely say new BDA's are in the pipeline for "Wave 2" including the following artistes..

Nirvana,
Guns n Roses,
Queen,
Lionel Richie,
Beach Boys,
Lang Lang,
Cat Stevens..

..I'd also add possible titles from
Abba,
U2,
Dire Straits..
..as previously alluded to outside of the HFPA Facebook page.

Oh and I meant to say I'd most likely buy all of those..

I would buy these, without a doubt !

( Just out of OCD, curiosity.....do you count the bonus discs, in the Genesis collections, Adam ? )

Oh....and if they mention MJ or Toto on their Facebook page, i'll wet myself !!

Well, mainly because I thought I'd come across a bargain given that it was linked from SA-cd.net and also because he had listened them in the main as SA-CDs (I've now made a severe complaint to him directly). I was suspicious of course, given the low prices and so, I decided to hold off until the first one arrived. Prompt delivery, I must say, but not even in a jewel case, never mind redbook. So, am afraid at. 18€+ it turned out to be rather expensive.

As far as Amazon.fr are concerned, I bought an SA-CD as listed and on that basis, I'll be looking a refund. There are dedicated listings for the redbook, he only had to sell there and am far as I'm concerned is trying to pull a fast one.

Yes, I just recently bought the Coltrane SA-CD for under 10GBP.

The stand in the FNAC was very sparsely populated by the time I got there and it was clear that a lot had sold. French tastes dictate that the jazz titles would be huge sellers and thus it proved....I wouldn't have minded a copy of «Acenseur Pour l'Échafaud».

Sony would have to get involved in blu-ray audio (and that would mean supporting their own format! Heaven forbid!) for there to be any MJ or Toto on BDA!@:

Superb! I'll freely admit I've been both full of hope and feared the worst at various stages with this trial but really I'm greatly encouraged and thrilled at its success!

All I want/hope from BDA now is more rock & pop made in the last 30 years and some/more surround/5.1 and I know I'm not alone in that. (y)
