" Marina, Aqua Marina "
My Melody Nelson arrived this afternoon from the Paris FNAC. Listening now, first impressions are that it leaves the 5.1 DVD for dust.
I've just discovered this album. Wow! It is incredible. It was released before I was born, but how did I not know about it until now?
Anyhow... I only have it in stereo. Can someone describe what the 5.1 mix is like? How does the bluray sound?
Universal are running a competition (closes this Friday June 7th)..

Just ordered it on Amazon UK for 10GBP! BD-A and an SA-CD. GIMMEE.
Everybody shhhh. Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits SA-CD II arrived today. Quiet.
It only means the Stones BDA is available at the moment but the point is it's confirming that HFPA programme is due for UK issue. :banana:https://www.facebook.com/HFPureAudio1With the UK release of High Fidelity Pure Audio edging closer and closer, don't forget there are already things on offer.
The HFPA FB page says today It only means the Stones BDA is available at the moment but the point is it's confirming that HFPA programme is due for UK issue. :banana:https://www.facebook.com/HFPureAudio1
And.... then there's this: (Forgive me, I don't think it's been mentioned before but maybe I missed a post) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Look-Love-D...019&sr=1-1&keywords=diana+krall+blu+ray+audio
Amazon UK showing Diana Krall BDA for Sept release. The date fits previous predictions and the price is pretty good. (Of course, it says it’s a DVD-A Blu Ray Audio but we're used to such confusion.)
yes, I saw that recent comment on their FB and liked it. the FB page is outsourced and run by an agency btw, it's a 3rd party setup nothing to do with Universal in-house or anything, so they really can't answer any seriously probing questions, it's just all social media pre-hype.
I've pre-ordered the Quincy Jones, Nina Simone, Ella & Louis & Getz/Gilberto BDA's from Amazon UK (all approx £14 w/free shipping - all available from 16th of September)
I tried searching for some other titles from the FNAC list on Amazon UK (Supertramp, Layla), but couldn't find them except as imports. So it's great news if you've found some more! I didn't know the FB page was run by an agency. Should have guessed I suppose. It probably means we will get more of the "DVD-A Blu Ray" type confusion if the info is being disseminated by uninterested parties.
true, only Classical & Jazz BDA HFPA titles up for pre-order on Amazon UK at the moment, no rock & pop (Layla, Supertramp, Bob Marley, etc.). no idea why!? @:
I only found out about the FB page after it turned out my brother-in-law won the Rolling Stones disc in their competition (yeay! go Johnny go go go!) and the emails etc they sent him to confirm details came from an advertising/promotions agency rather than anyone at Universal.
On that note, I've still never had a reply from either of the Universal employees I emailed (months ago) asking about whether we could see any 5.1 blu-ray audio's in time.
Roll on September when we should start to see some of these officially released here!!
They ingnore my e mails also. I have sent a few, asking the same thing re" 5.1
