No Crow on 4k but f'ing Alligator?
Noticed that as well! While it's a TV series and not a movie, I've noticed that the 5.1 audio for the music in The White Lotus is exceptionally well mixed.
How 'bout them special effects? I think I said out loud, "Aw... cute" when I saw that helicopter/train scene!I do enjoy some Melville. I hope Criterion releases more of their back catalog of his in 4k.
I recently watched Un Flic for the first time, drove me nuts trying to figure out who Simon was until I hit IMDB (hint, Col. Trautman from First Blood)

That makes me sad. Most unfortunately, Marplot, according to Blu.ray.com's video review, Criterion failed to do this UHD4K remaster any justice.
I think that team moved on to Doctor Who next...How 'bout them special effects? I think I said out loud, "Aw... cute" when I saw that helicopter/train scene!
Interesting read about the different colour grades. No reason why they couldn't have included the original and new colour grades on this release as it's been done before with movies like Reflections in a Golden Eye and Scalpel. I'd take blu-ray.com's reviews with a grain of salt too. They've lauded some releases that aren't that great while saying others are terrible when they're not that bad. I'd vote for seeing for yourself rather than relying on a blu-ray.com review. That makes me sad.

I also finished watching it about 30 minutes ago. I agree with your assessment.I just watched Kings Man. It might have been OK as a standalone but as a precursor to Kingsmen it fell rather short for me.
It wasn't as tongue in cheek entertaining and the action scenes rather far apart and daft.
I wont go into specifics for those that havent seen it.
"The new color grading job is deeply flawed and obviously very disappointing.."While I would tend to agree regarding blu.ray.com's reviews, it seems the color grading was part of the extensive restoration done on Le Cercle Rouge. And agree that Reflections in a Golden Eye which contained both color grades was an exemplary release.
Will axiously await additional reviews on Le Cercle Rouge from other internet reviewers!

The use of hyperbole here inclines me to not sweat a single review. I doubt a warmer color range meets that definition for me.
I am sure I will see other reviews in time to be able to take care of the next Criterion flash or Barnes & Noble sales.
thanks for the link though.
