Looking for something 'different' on NETFLIX. Look no further than the Italian horror flick DON'T KILL ME. Killer Soundtrack with great use of Surrounds. From Warner Brothers/broadcast in 4K/HDR...Entertaining but definitely off kilter!

Coming July 26th from Severin Films in Native UHD4K, actor/director Dennis Hopper's lost 'classic' OUT OF THE BLUE

Out of the Blue 4K Blu-ray

THE 4K RESTORATION OF DENNIS HOPPER'S LOST CLASSIC WITH 15+ HOURS OF SPECIAL FEATURES

It's been called "shocking" (Film Comment), "blistering" (Filmmaker) and "a flat-out masterpiece" (The Playlist) yet remained virtually unseen for over 40 years. Now experience this "haunting portrait of juvenile delinquency that ranks among the most powerful in American cinema" (Chicago Reader) from actor/director Dennis Hopper as it's never been seen before: Linda Manz "gives one of the greatest teenage performances of all time" (Film Comment) as a 15-year-old who idolizes Elvis, punk rock and her ex-con father (Hopper), is surrounded by junkies and predators, and follows them all down a one-way road to oblivion. Sharon Farrell (THE STUNT MAN), Don Gordon (THE LAST MOVIE) and Raymond Burr co-star in "a film about extremes, directed by an extremist" (Time Out) featuring music by Neil Young.

Linda Manz with Richard Gere & Sam Shepard in Malick's Days of Heaven is one of my most memorable film performances of all time.
Essentially cast as herself, 15-year-old runaway from the mean streets.

Happy this lost film is getting the maxi treatment, hope it streams somewhere eventually, as juvenile delinquent movies hold little interest for me, but the actors might.

Agreed, Terrence Mallck's DAYS OF HEAVEN is an extraordinary film experience and I'm lucky to have it via Criterion's 2010 BD edition ...... which was struck from the interpositive. Hopefully, it will get a Native 4K upgrade from the original camera negative at some juncture.

How does the Atmos sound quality of Dune compare between HBO and the UHD blu-ray?

Assumption is HBO compresses the sound somewhat. I’ve watched it twice now but contemplating buying the disc for third time.
Or the 3D for more of a visual difference

Streaming services all stream Atmos via DD+, which is compressed. I haven't compared Dune specifically, but TrueHD w/Atmos should beat DD+ w/Atmos every time.

Thanks for confirming. That's what I figured.
I see the Dune blu-ray 3D also comes with 2D using Atmos, so seems like best of both worlds (I don't have a projector that supports 4K). Its an excuse to watch the film twice. I actually contemplated syncing the 2D soundtrack to 3D visual, but can't see it working well.

Currently on book 7 of Dune saga. This movie inspired me to go deep.

Thx for keeping this thread going folks.

The Bridge On The River Kwai (1957) BD:
1. I forgot I picked up this BD from 4K scan ages ago really cheap but found it when backing up my movies and watched the MKV I made from it last night.
2. DTS-MA 5.1 is OK but limited to pretty much only some insects, water and score from the surrounds. Fidelity is good and there are a few decent lows.
3. It's a great flick. Funny, exciting, suspenseful. Haven't seen it in almost 20 years but still packs a punch. David Lean ruled.
4. At the 1hr 50 min mark, I noticed a glitch with a few repeated frames of a bat/flying fox and thought the MKV introduced them but went back to the BD when it was over and it's on the disc too - whoopsies. Not a show stopper though. Has anyone got the 4K release and can confirm if it's on it too?

It came with the first Columbia Cassics Volume I Native UHD4K box set remasters and I watched it all the way through and it did not exhibit any snafus. Great film and very nice transfer.

Heads up: apparently the James Bond films (presumably the Eon films only) are coming to Prime here in the UK from 15th April for a limited period of time, including No Time To Die. I saw No Time To Die in the cinema last year and thought it was alright but I'd be up for giving it another watch at home to see whether it's good enough to own on blu ray.
