I watched CCR at RAH on Netflix and really enjoyed it. Always wanted to see this. Glad it was finally released. Pretty good surround also. Check it out.

Just finished watching director Matt Reeve's nearly 3 hour THE BATMAN on Warner's spectacular Native UHD4K disc! How did Twilight's Robert Pattison succeed in filling the DC comic's SUPERHERO shoes ...... I'd wager A+! Retro Batman as Detective .... rather than superhero ...... a disheveled mess wracked with guilt and pain ....still reeling from his parent's untimely murders. Now facing a new threat...this time the ominous Riddler [Paul Dano in a great psycho role]. Zoe Kravitz is Catwoman ....... and like Batman, vulnerable, angry and without direction. Together they attempt to unravel the mystery of who is killing all of Gotham City's crooked politicians. The local police have no use for either neophyte 'superhero' and view them with suspicion ....why, because all the police are crooked as well and under the misguided direction of The Penguin and local 'wise guys!' Kudos, as well, to a brilliant musical score by Michael Giacchino who has assigned specific themes to each character. Thumbs way up to Warner's reference 4K disc and ATMOS soundtrack. And a separate BD~V loaded with extras [which I have not yet watched]. A high recommendation and a new variant in the canon of the Batman Franchise.

I watched this on 4K last night and really enjoyed it.

1. Surround mix is pretty decent. Fidelity is great. No dialogue-mumbling. No need to hit the Subtitles button.

2. Lows are spectacular. I could feel it all over from Batman's punches and other sections (no spoilers) shook the room. Might want to drop your sub levels 2-3dB from their usual position just in case though, Quaddies. Don't want no hardware damage. Reference audio on this disc.

3. Dolby Vision looked pretty good. It's dark but not stupidly dark. There doesn't appear to be any obscuring of shadow detail. If you like black, red and orange, you'll like the way this looks as that's pretty much the entire colour palette!

4. This is the first iteration of Batman that I really liked. I found the TV series/first few movies a goofy mess, Nolan's trilogy a yawnfest (you don't have to put up with Christian's stupid "batvoice" in this one, or Tom Hardly-understand-what-he's-saying-cos-he's-so-method-and-no-one's-got-the-guts-to-say-"speak-clearly-Tom" mumble-fest), although I thought Ben Affleck was alright. Anyway, point is that although I ain't no comic book fan/Batman nerd, Rob Pattinson I found to be pretty good. I dug Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes too.

Jurassic World: Dumbinion (2022) 4K:

1. Excellent DTS-X constant surround mix/fidelity/lows/Dolby Vision image. Bit of a reference disc in terms of audio at least.

2. Script was very silly though. Like it was written for a 6 year old. Truly a brain-off, volume-up watch. Oh well...

All in all, I found all those Jurassic Park movies/sequels highly entertaining. After all, that's why they call it ENTERTAINMENT!

4ears I read The Diamond Wizard is the only British made 3D movie from the golden age. And at $20 list affordable
Unlike I the Jury 3D coming listed at $35. Does come with an unnecessary 4K disc.

HOT OFF The Rumor Mill from the digital bits website: Coming in 2023, Warner's release of William Friedkin's THE EXORCIST in Native UHD4K containing TWO CUTS of the film

The Exorcist is coming to 4K in 2023

Now for that good catalog news: With Halloween nigh, it seems only fitting to report something I’m hearing from multiple industry sources now: Warner plans to debut William Friedkin’s The Exorcist (1973) on 4K Ultra HD in 2023—both the Original Theatrical Version and The Extended Director’s Cut. That should spin some heads. The release is obviously timed to celebrate the film’s 50th anniversary next year. Keep in mind, this isn’t official until the studio announces the release themselves, but as I’ve said, I’m hearing it from multiple reliable sources now, so it looks like it’s really happening. No idea what the street date might be, but we’ll keep you posted on any developments in the months ahead.
