Got this one in today, also from a 50% amazon sale. Saving til Halloween proper to give it a watch, but I've got a friend who's been begging me to see this for ages and says it would be right up my alley. The 5 Star Video AND Sound review on Blu Ray Dot Com seems promising (though I wish they put all the assorted music scores on the 4K disc itself)

There was certainly enough room on KL's BD 100 Triple layered disc to put ALL of the selected soundtracks in LOSSLESS audio ……wonder why myself, PM?

Arriving January 17th from Lionsgate and director Quentin Tarantino KILL BILL I and II [Native UHD4K]

Finally getting some more Tarantino in 4K. Jackie Brown from Lionsgate is also on its way, supposedly in January as well.

It would be amazing to get the Hateful Eight Roadshow version in 4K. The Blu-ray is already a stunner because of the Ultra Panavision photography; I imagine HDR would do wonders for it.

An interesting read on Wikipedia regarding Tarantino's THE HATEFUL EIGHT. The Roadshow version was indeed filmed in 70mm for a limited release and ran 187 minutes but what I didn't realize is that NETFLIX streamed it in 2019 as a four part mini series running 210 minutes...in a re~edited version.

And for film composer Ennio Morricone it was his first and only OSCAR win!

Correct, I have yet to see the Netflix version as it’s not available in Canada but I’m sure it would be an interesting watch.

The Roadshow version is similar to Ben Hur in that there’s no additional scenes it just has an overture and intermission but it would be cool to get that version available on home video, as it was only ever seen during the theatrical run in 2015.

I didn't subscribe to NETFLIX back in 2019. Wonder if they'll re~stream it when the UHD4K version is eventually announced?

And SONY usually does an excellent job with their intellectual properties. Glad they didn't attempt to stretch it out and are utilizing the 1.33:1 original aspect ratio it was originally shot in.
Interestingly the (standard) Blu Ray set announced alongside this *is* stretched out to 16:9, but the 4K has the original.
