In the meantime, I went ahead and preordered "Tusk" from amazon.co.uk
For the rough price of $61.75, it's too good to beat.
I did set up a price tracker through CamelCamelCamel to see if Amazon US ever gets to around that same price or goes even lower. :)

Does anyone know for sure that there is a DVD-Audio disk included. Or could it just be a DVD-Video with lossy dts, in which case I'd be more than happy to cancel my order.

Someone at SHF said its a DVDV with Dts on it as the person has a demo or preview copy.

DTS 96/24 Surround Sound
PCM 96 High Resolution Stereo

Those are the two audio streams on the DVD with the 5.1 being the default when you put the disc in your player.

CANCELLED!! I will go with the HIGH RES download:

Already ordered. $32.78 with code HDTUSK20. Almost 4 hours of studio tracks. No live junk. No lossy dts. No vinyl.

Yea, but it will show up some other way eventually. Either as a download or Blu-ray. A lossy dts 5.1 of any album isn't worth $70 to me.

I wouldn't count on it at the moment. How many years have we been waiting for Warner Music and Sony to develop a similar Blu-Ray Audio series like Universal have? The more time drags on, the more I see the chances slipping away...

And a 96/24 stereo download isn't worth $33 either!

It's almost 4 hours. I see plenty of $25 downloads, even $30 downloads for less than 1 hour of music. Beach Boys for example. And how else are you going to get all those CD tracks in high resolution? Of course it could be higher, like 192khz, don't know what the deal is with the 96khz cut-off point.

$92.20 on importcds.com with expedited shipping, better than waiting 10-12 days for Amazon free shipping. I cancelled anyway, including the download, after learning of Bill Inglot's involvement.

And I cancelled my Amazon order for Beach Boys Party Unplugged after it sat unshipped for 3 days even though it's in stock. That'll learn 'em. I'll just wait for a used one to show up at FYE now.

Who's Bill Inglot? Why's that an issue?

Bill Inglot is an A&R exec/remix/remastering engineer primarily for Rhino. Chances are if you own a Rhino compilation, he will be the remastering engineer/comp producer. Not sure why there's a problem with his work but I guess whenever your job entails "re" anything, someone will have a problem with it.
