Well that probably solves the CD Universe mystery. With so many release dates thrown around they simply gave up. The availability of this here in the states is turning into one big CF. Phil.

Anyone order recently from the Japanese site? I'd be willing to try them if I could figure out where to put information on their web site. The English version still has all the checkout in Japanese and I can't tell if they want my name or credit card in the boxes. Anyone able to help with ordering from that site for those of you that purchased there?

I don't know what's going on, I always get English on the site including checkout. Could it be a web browser cookie issue? Go to: http://www.hmv.co.jp and click on “English” and login to your account or create a new one. Everything should be all in English from there including checkout and account info.

You can also use Google’s Language Tools: http://www.google.com/language_tools to translate a web page.

I ordered recently........about two weeks ago from hmv.jpn. I just got an e-mail that the box is out of stock from the manufacturer. I am getting a little tired of waiting. Expected ship date is now December 30.

how much does this ntsc boxset cost (except for s/h)?
I paid 103 euros including shipping for my PAL version (125 retail)

Thanks all. I ordered from the hmv Japanese site this evening. I've been waiting for this set for 5 years and I put the 23rd of Dec. as the date I was getting it. Too bad all the other stores couldn't get my business with better updates. Did Genesis only print 1000 of these boxed sets? Anyway, last week when I tried the hmv site I couldn't get to the all English pages. But with the above links and registration it seemed to all work out just fine. Now we'll see if they have stock or what the final exchange rate is. Now I'll spend the next weeks hoping its actually the SACD/NTSC version that shows up on my doorstep. Looking forward to hearing all this old familiar music in a new way. Bill

Thanks for sharing that info. as I got depressed when I got my email from amazon.ca that my sacd order is delayed but this gives me hope as hmv.jpn is one of the sites that actually ships it out so if they are delayed than my amazon delay is a legit one and hopefully I will still get it.

It is definitely worth the trouble IMHO; it is what we were hoping for and better in some ways.

I base this elation on borrowed DTS DVDs as I await the SACD + DVD (NTSC) ordering fiasco to calm a bit.

Pre Ordered mine in amazon co uk many months ago. Received it in mid November , cost was 94 GBP. Of course PAL / sacd set. No problem with them.

Looks like mine will ship on the 30th of Dec. at latest. Word is that one guy in a secret shop in an undisclosed location is handmaking the SACD's one at a time. This is the reason for the delay.

Guess what? I just checked my HMV order and it shows "In Transit"

I AM SO PUMPED! Delivery date says December 30. I may just get this thing before the New Year.

Wherehouse.com replied to my email that it was indeed in stock 12/26/08 for $161.00 for SACD/DVD NTSC box set. That's a good price, but I'm included to get another coupon going at this point. (had 30% off pre-order but a 20% will do and they manage to do this every month or so. Methinks these will be far easier to come by in January....

This also encourages me catch up listening to the number of DTS & DVD-A discs that have turned up as of late. Never a bad thing.

I looked at the wherehouse site and it appears they have mislabeled the cd/DTS5.1 mixes as the SACDs. Was there a link to the Wherehouse SACD NTSC page? No word on shipping from Japan so if I could get that price at W i'd be interested.

OK, thanks for the info. I cancelled the hmv order since they were indicating they wouldn't ship until February. We'll see if the Wherehouse works out. I've been away from the home front on holiday and waited till today to order and the price went up to $184. Wish I'd gotten in on the $161 version. I tell you, this has been the hardest music of my life to obtain.
