Well I was vibrating for a week. paid expidited shipping for nothing. No external devices used, just my own anticipation because I had sold my 93, and was without for a week. My 103 is home now. Just finished setups. Pretty happy but the pass through video upconversion takes forever to work, and will not do pay channels.
I don't care. I got my 103. In 2 yrs a new one. I knew QL would be intriged, never suspected bushmaster.

Congrats on your 103 . I agree fast shipping is a con in my opinion. I know what you mean you were excited for the arrival of the 103. It never occurred to me that your comment would be taken out of content. Water off a ducks back right .

Vibrating is for amateurs.

Classe.jpg

Had it on the periscope for 2-3 years and sprung for it at the right moment, just as prices started rising again.

Classe CP-700 of course, with biamp on processor bypass mode to keep it all balanced with the A1UDCI Stereo. My stereo SACDs are coming to life like never before, even integrated line-level into the PR-SC5509 it improved localization of front effects tremendously in those DTS-HD MA flicks.

Alas, last of the Mohicans, after this model production shifted to Middle Kingdom at the Oppo hatcheries, no ext. balanced topology PSU, and a tons of D/A (USB) and A/D conversions to turn the CP-800 into a Xbox owner's dream "stereo processor".

Of course I have chronic upgraditis, so my latest itch is to dump my Sherbourns and get two of of the very similar monoblock construction Bryston 9B SSTs, but I just recently replaced all relays with the sweat of my own brow so I became attached, besides they would cost x4. Still, can you believe that the 5/1500As are still selling used 10 years later for close to 2/3 the MSRP?

My 103 arrived the other day-finally after a whole week without music, I had sold the 93 to get this guy. I must say that Moores law applies here. The law states something about technology improving every 18 months and the costs remain the same. So, they plan fpr a device based on what will be avail. in 2 yrs, then build on that premise. Instead of making a device with current materials.
Well, Oppo has done it once again! I thought my 93 was a hot comodity then I got this. After some use, I can hear it "breaking in". The video in put asa tough until I did upgrades that solved all those issues. MY Directv goes thru it using the Oppo qdeo chip, and I already had a nice PQ but it does clean up a bit. Had sync issues with audio but it stopped.
When asked on the registration where you heard of Oppo-I gave QQ the honor. Actually this is where I discovered Oppo, and the 103 is my 3rd. In all honesty, I will never buy another brand machine. My only issue is what's coming in 2 yrs from Oppo.

I've slowly put together some pro cinema audio process as they where so much fun in days when I was projectionist.

The AVR has been integrated with Dolby CP500 and the Sony SDDS DFP-D3000 (that only run though the AUX 1 and 2 and non-sync inputs)

AVR Yamaha RX-V650 8 channel outputs go to Sony SDDS on AUX 1 for SELECT 6 mode for discrete use mostly.

AUX 2 SELECT 7 mode is used with Dolby CP500 for analouge use at present with Non-Sync 1 and 2. It does have 6 channel D/A card fitted so I can run 6 channel from the AVR though to CP500 which has been wired in in the past/last year.

dts CAD-5 which is pending on being wired up? Its power lead is connected but I'm undecided what to do with it at present?

Luasfilm Ltd THX Sound System x2 of them one is presently active which is at the top the one below will be wired up as soon as I can get around to it. Wired up for a 16 channel monitoring system.

Laserdisc Pioneer DVL-909

Pioneer DVD multi-region

HD-DVD

Bluray x2 players the Sony S550 has 8 channel RCA that is connected to Yamaha AVR 8 channel input so no need to spend out on new AVR with dtsHDMA and Dolby TrueHD as of yet, as the decoding is done in the player.

Sansui QA7000 topless. I will have take some more photos with the covers removed. It was not as clean as the Marantz but I didnt think it was that bad. I made up some jumpers to replace them missing ones. I havent seen many of these Sansui's for sale and it hasnt been abused. It does look like it had some recent componets changed and all the screws were in place. Thats always a good sign.

I just upgraded my speakers last week. I needed to get rid of the four Bose 901s in order to free up the only 4-channel inputs into my QRX-9001. I was shopping for AR3a's on eBay and Craig's list, and actually found a guy local who had four for sale. But, when he told me that two of them didn't work well, but still want $1750 for the set of 4, I got cold feet. He also said he had a pair of Sansui SP-L800s, but the woofers needed new foam. Not a big deal, but I couldn't find another set of SP-L700/800 speakers anywhere. I got frustrated trying to find a nice set of vintage speakers THAT WORKED, so just out of curiosity I checked for speakers on Amazon. First I found Epos Epic 5s on sale, but reviews seemed mixed. Then I saw the Focal 714v for just a little more. More research led me back to Focal, but the 716v, again for half price. I clicked BUY before I changed my mind.

I'm still breaking them, but I'm impressed. I did pull my old Sony woofer out of storage to boost the bottom end, but I think the Focals could probably hold their own without it. They are higher efficiency than the Bose, so I don't dare crank the volume much higher than 3.5. I'm going to give them another week or so before I throw Inna-Gadda-da-Vida in the CD player again. (The first attempt didn't impress me.) But, either the speakers are getting better, or my ears are getting accustomed to the new sound, but they seem to sound better every day. It's nice having the open reel option again. I was using it in 2-channel mode only until I repaired my Pioneer CTF-950 cassette deck last year, and ran out of inputs with the new deck. I've been thinking about ditching the Bose ever since. I'll post a follow up in a few weeks after I hear Ravel's Bolero on the new speakers.

I just set up the Axiom Epic Grand Master 350 5.1 speaker system in the den, replacing a Sony HTIB speaker system I sold for $35.

It will probably be years before I add or replace anything else in any of my systems. Other than replacing broken or otherwise unusable equipment, I am thinking after 45 years I am finally done with continual upgrades.

Those speakers look great Chris. Bet they sound it too. Nice.
