R.E.M. the unreleased 1991 Concert LIVE FROM MOUNTAIN STAGE in West Virginia from the 25th Anniversary release of OUT OF TIME. Superb content and equally sensational sonics for an RBCD!

Lou Donaldson - Lou Takes Off

Another excellent offering from Audio Wave. Upbeat, everybody sounds great. Have this album on Classic DAD too. Maybe I’ll pull it out and compare but this XRCD sounds wonderful so the DAD will have a tough time beating it.

Excellent series, Rang. Beyond superb sonics. I also have the Classic Records DVD~A Stereo. Tell us what you think about the comparison?

Both sound GREAT.
The DAD is darker, farther back in the soundstage. On the XRCD the bass and drums in the right channel are a bit louder making them more prominent and balanced with the horns in the left channel. The DAD sounds a tad lopsided in comparison.
But, the DAD is beautiful and its slight extra warmth (to my ears) is very appealing vs the the XRCDs more forward presentation.
I’m nitpicking either way and can’t say I have a clear preference.
I could (and will) very happily live with both.
The biggest difference might be the album covers: which is more accurate to the original?
