The static/distortion is also present on the file available from Tidal.Anyone else notice some distortion in the front left speaker about a minute into “Heart and Soul” (during the first chorus)?
I though my speaker was going, but it sounds like this in headphones as well…
I agree with every single word in this post, including the idea that "Hip To Be Square" is peak Huey Lewis. And I have always listened to the lyrics. You like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released this; Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.
sadly this one's Stereo only in the UKMe too. Really well suited for Atmos. The mix sounds great; would love to know who did it.
There’s another Floating Points surround mix on DVD, packaged with the CD and Vinyl of the album… gotta get my hands on a copy…Me too. Really well suited for Atmos. The mix sounds great; would love to know who did it.

I'd go $50, but the price of the box is out of the question. After listening to Who's Next in Atmos on Apple Music, it reaffirmed my initial decision. This is an album I'd happily buy on a standalone blu-ray for $25-$30, but for 10x that amount locked in a box set? NO THANK YOU!
Agreed. Beautifull song. Great atmos mix too. Not sure if they made the perfect mic choice for the lead vocal, but otherwise this is excellent. Love all the nice details and cool pans. I want the full blu-ray soon.peter gabriel's 'love can heal' available in dolby atmos. to me so far the best song of his 'i/o' album, has something reminescent of 'mercy street'.
What mic did they use?Agreed. Beautifull song. Great atmos mix too. Not sure if they made the perfect mic choice for the lead vocal, but otherwise this is excellent. Love all the nice details and cool pans. I want the full blu-ray soon.
Good question. Guess the recording engineer will have to answer that. To me it sounds like a vocal mic optimized for live concerts. It will usually have more colouration and have less good reproduction of harmonics in the higher frequencies than a large diaphragm mic. What mic did they use?

I have been streaming on Apple TV Spatial so much I have not been listening to SACD or any other 5.1 discs. Popped one in the OPPO and forgot how much better they sound . Apple TV is great with the subscription and all the music they have been adding weekly with Dolby Atmos , so much so little time.Thank God for streaming I say!
Whereas it's the reverse for me, playing physical surround discs and not getting enough time to listen to Apples recent releases...what a fantastic dilemmaI have been streaming on Apple TV Spatial so much I have not been listening to SACD or any other 5.1 discs.
