Listening to the new Sly and the Family Stone SACD. My sub grew a fro and platform shoes sprung from beneath the rest of the speakers. Weird for AF to release this album with a toot on it, but, groovy baby.

You definitely should revisit it. It's definitely not as good as the other classic 6 also on SACD from a content standpoint, but the mix and fidelity are absolutely superb.

I thought you were talking about Sly....yes Peachtree isn't up to the "classic" EJ albums...but I really liked it because the songs were brand new for me

After listening to Sly three times today, I loaded up Best of the Doors.

All your love is gone, so sing a lonely song...

Don't agree at all with the content not being as good...I haven't even got my copy yet but from a content perspective it's only behind the Doors FOR ME...those others you mentioned aren't even close..

Listening to Sly... WOW! This is a friggin party in a jewel case! I've got a smile on my face and tears of joy running down my cheeks. THIS is why we spend thousands on this hobby... LOVING it!!! My favorite AF disc yet by far! CRANK IT!

Because I want to buy the entire 4.0 series of AF SACDs - this means that I can't afford to pay the full retail cost of ordering them at the early nicer delivery places, and must deal with CCM or Imports.

Poor me, I'm going to have to wait a bit to hear this party mix in full glory!

The UK quad mix, said to be better than the US quad or the later DVD-A mix.

I want this too!!!!

It's absolutely amazing! I found myself playing the disc a second time in a row because I had so much fun the first time.

Dave Mason (1974 self-titled album in SQ LP form thru the Surround Master)...

This is so lovely... what a mix.. and fidelity is sublime.. it wraps around you like a warm furry coat on a cold old day...

.. so, come on AF, stick yer neck out and honour this one with a Surround SACD release.. it may not be a big hitter but the quality is undeniable. I'm sure if more people were exposed to it now they would love it today.

I just have to play Deep Purple's Machine Head UK SACD again. I love how the organ is the rears. Excellent choice!

Can I.. arrgghh.. no I can't.. must.. resist.. the.. urge.. to make a pun.. :p

fwiw, I prefer the Warner DVD-A, sound quality on that is out of this world and the mix while not as discrete and exciting as the old Quad is more "stage perspective"-like and logical... ah, such a shame the logical song came along when Quad had kicked the bucket.. what would you say now they're calling you a Quad-ical..?

I've just received the Billy Joel single layer SACD of The Stranger. Playing the first track and I'm really happy about the sound and the mix (so far, so good)!

I should that I've never owned this album before, so I have not heard a million times before. That helps a lot. Luckily for me, this is the case with 90% Multichannel releases I purchase. Just like Machine Head, which I also had never owned before.

Lori Lieberman-Bricks Against The Glass...blu ray audio..it's a shame there was such a limited distribution on this one...I'm glad I listened to fredblue and grabbed this one...excellent disc..superb sound quality...still available at acoustic sounds HERE...amazon uk HERE
