Lori Lieberman-Bricks Against The Glass...blu ray audio..it's a shame there was such a limited distribution on this one...I'm glad I listened to fredblue and grabbed this one...excellent disc..superb sound quality...still available at acoustic sounds HERE...amazon uk HERE

Oh you shouldn't listen to me Clint.. I wouldn't listen to me if I was me! Oh hang on..
Glad you like this one, I talked it up so much back then I should've been on commission.. ;)

I've just received the Billy Joel single layer SACD of The Stranger. Playing the first track and I'm really happy about the sound and the mix (so far, so good)!

I should that I've never owned this album before, so I have not heard a million times before. That helps a lot. Luckily for me, this is the case with 90% Multichannel releases I purchase. Just like Machine Head, which I also had never owned before.

can someone direct me to the "correct" multi-channel version on amazon? All I see is a stereo version..

52nd ST I linked is multi channel...they both are...I took each one from my orders categories on amazon...

It is kinda confusing with the BJs though.. there are a few versions of each, including Japanese variations that do and don't have surround or are and aren't hybrids, something like that anyway...

I don't remember now exactly, I only ever had one apiece of the BJs anyway, luckily got them at retail price before things went crazy with these old Sony single layer jobs.. its mental to think of the prices they're getting now..

..would it have been such a huge ordeal for Sony to keep these two Surround discs in print, or reissue them, even if not in SACD form like DVD or dreaded DualDisc or something..?

The demand is there and has been all along, only a fool would kill the golden egg laying / golden disc pressing SACD plant.. oh hang on..

Odd - when I click link and look at the picture (back) it clearly says stereo. Are you suggesting the picture is simply wrong? (which wouldn't be too surprising for Amazon I guess)

Clint's link also links back into sa-cd.net's listing for the MultiCh SACD, so if they got it wrong then all the folks clicking thru that site would have got the wrong ones too and I can't see that happening over there.. Clint's listing is correct, I would just advise maybe checking in with the individual sellers to make sure they've got the right one before you pony up?

The link to 52nd st shows it as Stereo...at least by the picture... Any thoughts?

Sorry for the confusion...I kept talking about The Stranger...not 52nd street...but I did take both of them from the order section of my account and used that link to the product...to double check it I went to SACD.net and used their link HERE...the problem is that the picture on the amazon listing is for the SONY version...not the Columbia version(which I have and bought from that same listing)that SACD.net links...either amazon put up the wrong picture OR they ran out of the Columbia multi channel version and replaced it with the Sony stereo version...I don't know what to tell you...you could email the individual sellers(used category)and ask them if it's the multi channel version....you can see the difference in the picture below of my disc

RIP Mr. Ramone...
(strikes me what an assembly of talent was involved in the creation of that SACD.. Phil Ramone, Ted Jensen, Frank Filipetti.. )

..if only Paul Simon would sanction his wonderful Quadraphonic remixes for reissue (they were produced by Phil Ramone afaik).. and then there's the other BJ Quads of Piano Man and Turnstiles.. just how (how how how) do we get those out on Surround SACD or something..?? Guaranteed to sell themselves imho..
