Just for the record, Bob Clearmountain did not mix this album in surround. The surround mix is by Ronald Prent.

Bob Clearmountain is mentioned as being a producer along with Jimmy Iovine...I do see now that Ronald Prent did the 2005 surround mix that was used on this disc..it's a shame that Ronald Prent isn't given a mention in the article by Paul Sinclair...HERE and even on the Simple Minds website..

I'm a big fan of Ronald Prent's surround mixing M.O. fwiw... Here's a great QQ thread peterzach did on collating info on his mixes over the years (most of them mastered by his wife Darcy Proper.. they're the Mr and Mrs Brown of Surround!)

Here's a shocker. I've had this disc on the shelf...unopened. Long time....

Just popped it in...and wow does it sound full, discreet and awesome. EXCELLENT!

The Jeff Beck Group Quad SACD

Mannheim Steamroller...not to be confused with Mason Monheim from Gos's beloved Illinois Football Team...it is the Christmas Celebration DVD surround disc...unlike Analogue Productions I like to listen to Christmas Music during the month of December:spot

Just listened to Idlewild South and thought it was great. Will have to listen again to vote but loved it. Before the Allmans I listened to Primus & the Chocolate Factory. The Mix was fun but need to have a few beers before the next listen. Before that I had been locked in on the Loaded surround. Listened many times and my wife even liked it. Had a friend drop off his surround disc of Tusk so I will have to get that in the rotation. I want to compare the release of Tusk to the surround version that was in episode 1 of The Americans. Happy Listening, Scott

Clint, LOVE, LOVE Mannheim Steamroller. BTW, they just released a BD~V of Mannheim Steamroller LIVE (I paid under $10 for it, brand new) which is a quasi documentary with MS founder Chip Davis offering a brief tour of his compound and some absolutely incredible live performances of Mannheim Steamroller live with 5 bonus cuts. Not as discrete as the DVD~As but if only for their brilliant rendition of Silent Night, an absolute MUST purchase! They also include some LIVE cuts from some of their Fresh Aire series.

Deep Discount offers a complete description of the BD~V contents. Sounds and Looks Spectacular on my system!

Best of Bread 4.0

I would give everything I own (well, not quite.. :) ) to hear the shelved 5.1 Warner DVD-A of this one... I love the Quad and AF's SACD release is terrific, don't get me wrong but can you imagine a new surround remix from the multi's.. I wonder what happened there, it would have virtually sold itself.

Wait…hold the phone…there's an unreleased 5.1 mix of "Best of Bread" sitting in the Warner/Rhino vaults right now?!
Man, if that's true, if only Audio Fidelity could have released that mix instead, that would have been truly incredible!
Don't get me wrong either, I also love this Quad SACD a lot, but I would also love to hear what a good 5.1 mix of their best music sounded like. :)

Lori Lieberman-Bricks Against The Glass Blu Ray Audio...I was comparing this to the Collins disc..as far as voice goes...not as close as I thought...Lori has a deeper voice than Judy Collins..both talented performers.
