there's an unreleased 5.1 mix of "Best of Bread" sitting in the Warner/Rhino vaults right now?!

Apparently so, it appeared on a couple of pre-order lists back in the day.

Edit: Here's an old DVD-A pre-order list from 2001 that steelydave posted here back in 2012..

https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/forums/showthread.php?15718-DVD-Audio-Pre-Release-List-from-2001

Edit: Full disclosure, I have heard one of those unreleased WEA DVD-A mixes, not the Bread one sadly though, or the Jean-Luc Ponty/Cosmic Messenger, Christopher Cross, Michael McDonald, Rod/Night On The Town, David Sanobrn/Voyeur, Blues Brothers OST, Tracy Chapman, Joni Mitchell/All..! and Doobies/Minute By Minute.. any/all of which I would so love to hear.

Flute Mystery from 2L. Always interesting to compare as this comes as a two disc set, SACD and blu ray. Both in 5.1

[sorry for the duplicate post]

Allman Brothers Band "Idlewild South" BD-A this is really good, and from 8-track multi as well. I do wish I'd been able to see them at Knebworth 1974, now when do we get "Brothers & Sisters"....please :music

Checkfield - Surrounded (DVD-A)

Excellent 5.1 mix of these smooth jazz numbers from 1977-1988. The music has a 1980s "Windham Hill" feel to it, so it's on the soft side. Definitely "feel good" music. Some tracks even include woodland birds chirping in the background.
But, the music is "real". Delightful easy-listening! :music

Brett, so glad you enjoyed it. It really grows on you.

I just watched this one http://www.amazon.com/Mannheim-Stea...65953&creativeASIN=B0154XT6CU&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

REALLY enjoyed it. If you can find it cheap (region free) BUY it. Disregard the negative reviews on Amazon. They're a bunch of whiners.

You should be receiving your parcel of goodies from the family in Indiana soon including Olu Dara's Neighborhoods.

Hope all is well and that you treated yourself well for Christmas. :brew

BTW, I visit "HRAudio.net" from time to time and it's like a Ghosttown. Wonder if Zeus really did make the right move. Wish Markie would post here, as well. REALLY am loving QQ. Wonderful bunch of guys!

Thanks Ralphie!
And I hope your amps are keeping you nice and cozy warm during this Christmas season. :kitty:

I'll keep an eye out for that Mannheim Steamroller Bluray. In the meantime, I just got the wonderful

Mannheim Steamroller - Fresh Aire 8 (DVD-A) to keep me in the Holiday spirit. :party:brew:party

GREAT choice, Brett. I wish ALL the Fresh Aire series from Mannheim Steamroller (1~7) were remixed into 5.1. Some of the earlier ones (ALL HDCD encoded RBCDs) are really fine. That's why I'm encouraging you to buy the LIVE BD~V.....also includes tracks from those earlier Fresh Aire RBCDs. I paid under $10 brand new for the LIVE BD~V.

We'll do! I just placed an ordered this morning for some Classical stuff and that Grandmaster Flash DVD-A. I'll be thinking of you when I get those Xmas goodies. ;)

I sometimes check in over there, too...mostly to search for a classical recording. Ghostly quiet is right. Images of old Scrooge being visited by 3 ghosts come to mind. Kyaa!!! :yikes

I've also been wondering where Mark, and Derek are. Hey Guys! The QQ door is always open.

Come on in and make yourself at home! :wave
