Electronic classical is a bit tricky, isn't it? I do like Tomita's work, though.
It is. Thanks for the Tomita reminder Lute, been wanting to look into that and have some time this week. A title or two are very expensive though aren't they?

Is it time to get the aspirin out? LOL! :ugham:

Time to get Wendy out..! :D

An Audio Fidelity quad would be nice for this one...

Supposedly, Wendy Carlos herself owns the rights to the Switched on Bach series and there was talk that it WAS remixed into surround for hi res physical disc but never released. Usually, Audio Fidelity will not deal with individuals, like Carlos but only with record comglomerates.

Well I can't comment on a discrete version, as I've never heard one.. or the domestic (i.e. U.S.) SQ LP that Ms. Carlos was so disparaging about at the time of its release.. but the Japanese SQ LP decoded via the Surround Master Sq Vinyl chip modded unit (with a channel reassignment, Front Right swapped for Rear Right) is a joy.. I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to finally hear this as the artist intended in truly discrete multichannel surround sound.. come on Wendy C.! please let's have that 4.0 mix of Switched on Bach..!? ..now's the time, the world's been switched on to your S-OB for decades but people are switching onto Quad again in numbers for the first time in as many decades and are bound to lap it up in surround..!! :p

Floyd Cramer - Super Country Hits.

I have to confess to being a staunch lover of the music pouring forth from RCA studios in Nashville. Ever since 1963 when I heard Floyd Cramer playing piano on Hank Locklin's We're Gonna Go Fishing. This was produced by Chet Atkins, but by the 1970s the music had turned a lot more MOR. Nevertheless it's very easy on the ear.

When Will I See You Again - Johnny Mathis (SQ LP).

Well you don't get much more MOR than Johnny.. but such high quality easy listening.. and that incomparable voice.. all 6 of his Quads should be out on Surround SACD now imho so they can be given a fair reassessment.. Vocalion, if you're reading this at all, please consider reissuing them in MultiChannel, to me they are stunning!

When trying desperately to find shelf space for the avalanche of discs arriving today & yesterday I stumbled upon this 1973 quadraphonic recording. It is mixed so that the listener is in the middle of the orchestra - as I like it.
