Cornelius - FIVE POINT ONE. I love it. Every time I hear it I hear something new and am amazed at something else. I commented on the album thread to bump it, and I'd suggest/request that a poll be created for this incredible album. Check it out!
Impossible to describe but I suppose a Japanese Brian Wilson is a place to start.

I listened to Treemonisha (Pentatone DGG QUAD SACD) last night. While it's 'mildly' engaging and extremely well recorded with ample use of the surrounds (the chorus, in particular), I find the story slight and the music none too memorable.

I also just listened again to the DVD~A of Neil Young's Harvest with a new awareness. In fact in the first song he mentions that this girl is inside his head. Just like Neil's voice is inside your head. It now gets a 9 from me.

George Benson's Breezing AF QUAD

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED......OMG:yikes........What we Do In The Shadows.......Jermaine Clement of The Flight of the Conchords writes and stars and it's unlike any other vampire movie you've ever seen.

IF you only see one Vampire movie this year....let it be http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/what_we_do_in_the_shadows/ Watch the trailer: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/what_we_do_in_the_shadows/trailers/

Tonight, I'll watch the BD~V of Mad Max FURY ROAD :steering: with the great Tom Hardy. What an actor!(y) He puts his heart and soul into every role he 'inhabits.'

Sounds like a fun vampire movie, Ralphie! I haven't seen it yet.

Is it even better than the Twilight series? :ugham:

The Twilight Series was, IMHO, an abomination.

What We Did In The Shadows is in a class by itself.

And LOVE Kamakiriad. What a delightful sounding, ultra discrete treat for the ears!

Ended up watching 3/4 of Kwaidan tonight. Criterion did a superb job of restoring the film to its original length encompassing all FOUR supernatural stories.

Many of us wouldn't admit this, but it takes a real man to admit he is listening to Olivia Newton John Back With a Heart in DTS. Lol. It's not bad at all... Picked it up at my local recordstore for $6.00.. She's not Steven Wilson but it's okay... ;).

This is one that I have really wanted Audio Fidelity to reissue on Multichannel SACD, even though it's not likely to happen right now due to lack of artist and record label approval. Oh well, maybe one day I'll try and seek out the DVDA again for a good price. :)

Hey, I used to have a kid crush on her back in the 70's. I would spend money on a best of in Quad...no doubt.

"Muscle of Love" by Alice Cooper.
Even though it arrived a few weeks ago, I have finally made the time to listen to this Quad SACD, and so far, I'm liking it! Will vote after listening. :)

Then again, Steve Wilson is NO Olivia Newton John. I really admire her DTS Entertainment LIVE album "One Woman's Live Journey" recorded and mixed (5.1) by Elliot Scheiner at the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City which basically contains all her hits. Well worth seeking out. And while we're on the subject of Olivia, they're also releasing a guilty pleasure of mine on BD~V, namely, Xanadu.....which is NO Citizen Kane (that's for sure).

I just added the DTS Entertainment's Back With a Heart to my collection and thanks for the heads up.

Tull - Too Old To Rock N Roll (Wilson)

Wow! Sounds TOO good....these sort of titles make it hard to rate other things as high as I want to. Geez.....

Just received an email from DeepDiscount that they're offering a 15% discount on ALL merchandise until Wednesday (December 30th) @ 12 Noon (Central Time) utilizing the promo code: GIFT4ME.

Orders over $25 also receive FREE shipping.

NOT bad.

BTW, GOS, how did you make out with the electrician? Did you get your plug....dedicated to the one you LOVE...your stereo system?

He just left - he came by just to see what I wanted. He's coming back either tomorrow or Wednesday to do the work. Yes, it will be dedicated. :)
He's also carving out a couple places to run HDMI cables, so I will have ZERO cables from TV draped down the wall....sweet!

Just for the heck of it, ask him how much it would cost to ground the mains coming in to the house. I was getting all sorts of interference from dimmer switches and even got a clicking sound when the oil burner kicked in and now NOTHING. Ask his opinion? The dedicated plug should work wonders, though. Like you, I hate wasting $$$$$ but I consider the incoming power supply essential if one is to take their music seriously, like we DO!
