Both "Young Americans" and "4 1/2" arrived in my snowy mailbox today, and I'm playing the latter right now. It's just as good as about anything else Steven Wilson has already released in surround! :)

Hell yes! And it's an "in-between" album. Maybe his new one later will even be better!

I have no trouble believing that what he will do next will be even better than what he's done before, but we'll have to wait a while for his next proper album as he's not planning to have it completed until late 2017. I hope in the meantime however that lots of forlorn and unreleased remixes can finally be released, for his own sake so that way people can appreciate the great work he continues to do for us in surround! :)

I'm honestly not sure how much music for his next album he's even written yet, plus he's supposed to be touring most of this year in support of both "Hand. Cannot. Erase." and "4 1/2".
If there's anything we'll get from him this year besides more remixes, it will be a live film and/or album from the "Hand. Cannot. Erase."/"4 1/2" tour. :)

We'll probably be waiting until the Fall for something like this, but I'm sure it will be well worth it. (And yes, I'll take Blu-Ray too along with any and all CDs that SW's willing to throw in there too.) :)

I believe he did mention that there would be a live document of the tour, but that he was bored with the usual presentation. Should be interesting.
Just picked up 4 1/2 today as well as Allman Bros. Idlewild ($68.00):yikes.
A glass of wine and some good listening this evening.

On the menu for the weekend.....

Bryan Ferry Boys and Girls, Frantic (love Chris Spedding's guitar solo, and Brian Eno's enosifications), and Roxy Music Avalon.

I don't have "Frantic" but I might add both "Boys & Girls" and "Avalon" to my snow weekend listening queue. Stay tuned!
(Wine is also probable.) ;)

Oh please don't do interviews and assorted extra curricular activities between songs, I've had more than a fair share of that with concert releases lately.

Oh, brother, listening to Audio Fidelity's 4.0 Judy Collins, Best Of. Ugh. I am just trying to be objective, but ugh. That said nice sonics, rears, are quite active, good balance, with pedal steel and electric guitars. I find the tone a little tinny, but her voice certainly is of the treble side. It's like this if your a stamp collector you got to get the duds with the jewels. Of course if you really like this recording that is great and you shouldn't care what I have to say.
Next up is 4.0 Bread, Best Of, fingers crossed.
Then America, Hearts 4.0, Eagles, Hell Freezes Over DTS 5.1, Neil Young Harvest DVD-A, and saving best for last T.Rex DVD-A. I need to go to liquor store, this is going to take awhile. Hopefully Megadeth's new SHM CD stereo Dystopia arrives today from CDjapan.

Care to comment on the two tracks I called out in the poll thread? I'd really like to know if others hear the distortion or whether I have a bad disc or something.

You're a monster .Steven!!! (get together with A Parsons again , PLEASE!)

(Jameson and Mahou hitching a ride too)

So, about your Judy Collins comment. I assume it's because you don't like the music? Which is fine of course. Just curious for more clarification on the UGH. :)
