Oh Ryan I can't keep up.. :yikes :p ...there's so many SACD versions of the Blow By Blow Quad (but not one modern version of the Quad of Wired.. ) I imagine the Surround on the Hybrid is also presented as 5.1 (w/needless imho) Centre & LFE but its been so long since I played any of the SACDs of BxB, the last time I played the Quad was a Surround Master decode of the SQ LP by yours truly (and rather spiffy it was too if I do say so myself! )

Was that what they call a blow by blow account :popcorn

Yes! Oh its a lot of FUN! :D
I'm still hopeful AF will unearth the master tapes.. but for now it'll do ;)
(btw I'm sure you could turn the flacs into a DVD-A or something.. though I avant garde a clue..
fwiw its one of the SQ's that didn't require much of a scrub with the fairy liquid as it was minty fresh when it arrived.. lmao!)

Adam, hopefully they WILL find the Full Sail Multitracks. In the meantime, take my advice and splurge on AF's newly minted stereo SACD of L&M Sittin' In. Since it was never mixed in QUAD, what you will be getting is the BEST version I've ever heard including the recent Japanese Blu Spec RBCD remaster.......NO comparison. AF's Stereo remaster by Kevin Gray is stunning. An iconic classic!

Oh yes, RT,

Probably my fave "Crimson" surround and music disc.!!

Well since you said fave, Crimson, and surround in the same post, that would only lead me to listen next to "Larks' Tongues in Aspic"! (but not today as I'm about to head to work for the evening.)
"Islands" is far from being my favorite, but the combination of both "Prelude: Songs of the Gulls" and "Islands" (the title track) makes for some of the beautiful surround listening anyone could ever experience! :)

Hey guys.. Since most of the action is in this thread, I thought I'd ask here: A few days ago, someone (Clint Eastwood, maybe?) posted a video interview with Steven Wilson that I didn't get the chance to watch right away as I was leaving home.. Anybody recalls where it is? (It's not the one in the "Steven Wilson Remixes Facebook/Twitter Pages!")

thanks! :brew

Dude...do you have THIS ONE...cause I'm interested in hearing what it sounds like..

Clint, excellent DVD~A 5.1 (actually part of a trilogy of three albums recorded with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra) but currently available for less than half the price of Elusive Discs' rip~off $60 price tag http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/WPCR-14169

I have the DVD~A and the 3 disc RBCD set released some years ago by Warner. Only the first (What's New) was ever released in hi res on physical disc. http://www.allmusic.com/album/round-midnight-with-nelson-riddle-and-his-orchestra-mw0000650710

Superb sonics!

I wouldn't be buying that one from Elusive..I just wanted to make sure he was talking about the same one...in fact I have some bonus points in my account at cdJapan...and I'm interested in the actual surround mix...I have some early pressing Ronstadt Asylum CD's that sound excellent with impressive DR numbers...but of course the surround mix would certainly trump the sound of those..IF..it's a good surround mix and mastering job...

Clint, it's awesome. Just make sure your center channel brings its a-game. That's some of the strongest, most powerful, yet beautiful singing you're liable to hear!
