I'll probably review Dylan's other SACD'S as well as it's been awhile. And compare Newport 63-65 with this live sacd.Looks like the same mix master, Brauer at Quad Studios.

My thoughts exactly. Classical music and the Looney Tunes were always a great combination. :)

I still get a kick out of those classic cartoons when I occasionally run across them on TV.
Walt Disney, Tom & Jerry, and Looney Tunes did a fantastic job blending animation to music... and introducing children to the magical world of bygone days.

OK, in a few minutes I will start the AP of Blow By Blow, I am relaxed and in a good mood. Machine is warmed and stretched for 30 mins. No computer typing, will just sit and listen. Will put my listening results on the BBB thread. This is super fun, love this hobby.

I wonder if we could get some of those "days" back with a little
"Spooky Action at a Distance".:teleport: Perhaps.... our subwoofer could produce the necessary gravity waves and...

Then again, I sure am enjoying our present 4.0 dimensional world. :51banana:

Can't go wrong with a playlist from Porcupine Tree's hey days... You could do several other playlists from the same period which should be equally good. I have absolutely nothing against your picks, but I actually think that the only one that should survive to a similar list of mine is Buying New Soul.

BTO 5.1 Upmix...sounds wonderful!

Some great tunes there! Wasn't Takin' Care Of Business one of Elvis's favourite songs as I recall? The photo made me think of the pre-BTO band Brave Belt, I believe Fred Turner joined Randy and gang for the second album as Chad Allan stepped away from the project. Think brother Tim joined the band then on guitar, so with brothers Randy, and Robbie (on drums) and Fred they morphed into BTO around '73ish. Only Brave Belt song I remember was Dunrobin's Gone.:)

Anthony Phillips - Sides. I know this album very well and I can say on first listen that this dvda sounds excellent. Some good use of the surrounds for backing vocals. Nice on a Saturday night with a lovely pint of Old Speckled Hen :brew

LTIA
Blu-Ray

holy sheepshit, Batman!!!!

It's not like I've been listening to this dozens of times on LP (I even had the Atlantic pressing with the white borders), I still find new things , especially in the quiet parts (beginning of "Exiles" anyone?)...

Also digging the "alternate" versions....

Joni Mitchell - Shadows and Light:

A great Joni live show from happier days. Featuring an AWESOME band including Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays, Don Alias, Michael Brecker, and the one & only Jaco Pastorius on bass guitar. (The DVD includes a fun Jaco bass solo that isn't on the CD.)

Audio is AC3 only, and the sound isn't perfect, but the surround is somewhat more interesting at times than the stereo CD - Joni's vocals are nice in the center channel, and Jaco's bass seems to have a deeper sound. Picture quality is so-so, shot directly to SD video. There are also occasional random cutaways to various music-video type clips while the band is playing.

Still available at Amazon for 10 bucks.

Dunno if anyone else remembers Moe Berg & the gang from the Great White North? I miss 'em - their bus used to come through here from time to time, and I always had a great time at their live shows.

Audio is AC3, default is stereo but there is a multi track that is punchier.

Still a couple left on Amazon.
