Jackson Browne probably wasn't the only wife/girlfriend abuser at the time. He just was caught because of the high profile nature involving actress Daryl Hannah. While I would never condone abuse of ANY kind, enjoy the DVD~A of Running On Empty.

There's enough angst in that album to gag a maggot.

Sorry for the derail, but m yes, there are a lot of artists who are wife beaters (Slash, anyone?)...
Just that I suffered through my teen years of my MOM getting beat up in front of me by my "stepfather", and I don't think I'll ever get over it...

The only time a man would be in a situation to hit women is if attacked by a group of women..or a woman who is as big and strong (or bigger AND stronger) than you are..even then, I'd first try my judo skills...

Don't give a **** about this guy's angst....he can go f*ck himself....there are other ways of dealing with angst...

Agreed. After finding out all my fav artists are women beaters, I no longer want to know what artists are really like, It certainly puts me off. The art and artists are not separate for me.

I will never read an artist biography again.

Anyway...............

Can we please get back on-topic?
There's really no need to bring this thread down with talk of domestic abuse.
Listening to music in surround sound is (usually) a joyous experience, so let's keep it that way.
Pretty please? :)

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots

Unit three thousand twenty one is warming..

The Doobie Brothers "Toulouse Street" QR Conversion... The Doobie Quads are just fantastic in terms of surround mix and sound quality... I hope they see hi-rez releases someday!!

Thumbs WAY up! (y)

I have the Dolby b QR Open Reel of Stampede and it was outstanding when I had my OR hooked up.

After the Chicago QUADIO boxset, how 'bout some Doobies in QUAD, Rhino/Warner? Like a whole boxset's worth?

Nothing's ever guaranteed (of course) but if we all do our best to buy the upcoming Chicago box set, maybe it will sell well enough for Warner/Rhino to consider other Quadio box sets. The Doobie Brothers four Quad albums would certainly be probably the best contender for a follow-up IMHO. :)

Stop the releases...or I'll go broke. lol!

I kid, I kid...bring them on...I'll buy them all.

Genesis - When In Rome DVD-V (still screaming for a BD release) Petey's favourite part is, of course, In The Cage...

That's cool Clint, how does it sound? Depend on the song?

It's been so long I'm not sure if there is any big differences in each song...so far they are all excellent(song 6 right now)...it's a nice cross section of styles...works very well...

update...I've finished now and there are no "bad" songs...unlike a compilation disc this is called a "sampler"...they usually select some of the best sounding songs to promote surround music and also different genres...they are representative of the surround albums they were taken from...sure some sound better...but on this disc they are all pretty even...hard to compare jazz with rock...but you get the idea...there are no "ugly" sounding songs on the disc...

"The Collection" SACD from Audio Fidelity has arrived, and man, this one is a real winner so far!
A full report on it once I finish my first full listen-through. :)
