what's the Bee Gees stuff you've remixed?
I remember quite a bit of the SNF era stuff floating about as stems at one point

Nights On Broadway(alternative piano mix), Staying Alive, Night Fever, You Should be Dancing.

I have done some really wicked covers as well. I have just spoken to the guy who uploaded them and he has over a thousand cover songs as multis! I am trying to coax him to upload them for me. Might have to pay him. I have already done; Zeppelin Ramble On, Stairway, Dancing Days, Babe I'm Gonna, Priest The Ripper, Journey Stone In Love, Verve Bittersweet etc. The Zeppelin ones are great covers, and the The Ripper Cover is brilliant! These are what he put up on the site(DL for paid members). I am no longer a paid member, but I PM'd him and got this list https://mega.nz/#F!SEUFwLoB!W15gpp7ijqTSljGe1taJlw
That would keep me mixing for the next year. We will see because he may not want to upload everything at once as that is not easy.

Now if only I had a DAW that did not keep crashing and was easy to use.........................

Just listened, 461 Ocean Boulevard 5.1 Elliot Scheiner mix, now listening There's One In Every Crowd, 4.0 original Quad mix. Both Blu Ray at DTS-HD 24/96 from the 6 disc set. Eric Clapton Give Me Strength, the 74-75 recordings.

I don't think this set gets enough recognition around here, especially the Scheiner mix. Perhaps that's due to the fact that these albums have been released a bunch of times in surround (the quads on DTS CD, and 461 on SACD) but the sound quality on the BluRay blows them all away. The Scheiner mix of 461 is my favourite, but I do occasionally enjoy listening to the quad mix as well, I really like the way they mixed the tracks that have two drummers, with one in front of you and one behind.

Eargasm - JT

(Johnnie Taylor, that is..

..can you imagine Jethro Tull doing "Disco Lady"..!? Haha.. :D

hmm.. I think I prefer the sound thru the kaput JVC demod using it as a straight preamp.. seems to sacrifice some top end for the sake of more low end and general warmth, maybe.. I need to try out a few other well worn tracks this way before I go back jack and do it all over a-bloody-gain.. not sure I can face it or if there's much point.. but pig headed stubbornness in the face of potentially pointless daft exercises never stopped me before!

love the TOIEC Quad, great choice Markie! :upthumb
i used to find the record a bit of a snoozefest in Stereo, surround really brings it to life, the DTS CD is very nice if a bit lacking in top end, the BD is a bit loud with lots of bass and the CD-4 I picked up recently, well that's not bad either, at least it plays all the way through without spluttering, tender mercies and all that .. and 461 OB.. well what can one say that hasn't already been said, utter Classic, one of me all-time faves of EC's (and I like quite a bit of his solo output thru the years).. how spoilt for choice we are with 461 in surround - the old Quad on DTS CD and the newer BD-A, Guzauski's 5.1 on the hybrid SACD (which I like best of all available options I've heard) and Scheiner's shelved surround on the BD-A (great in places but not his best surround stuff in me 'umble opinion)

Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters [SACD - Multi-Channel]

Wow, the 2nd song, first 45 seconds remind me of a song off of Piper At The Gates Of Dawn.....

Of course, changes fast after that intro...but cool...

Rosemary Clooney's Girl Singer and White Christmas (yeah, it's that time of year). On Concord 5.1 SACD. Only wish Concord Records (NOW part of the Universal Group) had continued producing their extraordinary hi res physical discs.

Also Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas Extraordinaire and A Christmas Celebration......two extraordinary ultra discrete DVD~A 5.1s:banana::banana:

Am about to spin Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker [complete ballet] transcribed for solo piano (Mch SACD) performed by pianist Stewart Goodyear on Steinway & Sons Record label.

Blimey! Never got round to opening either Rosemary Clooney SACD! This Xmas they're gonna get unwrapped! Thanks for the reminder Santa Ralphie! :upthumb

Wonder if Concord/Universal own the rights to the Stax/Fantasy catalogues?
Some solid Quads on those labels (Isaac Hayes, CCR, etc)

Actually, Adam ....or is it, er, MVP [:yikes], the Clooney SACDs have very discrete use of surrounds.

And I do believe that Concord (now UMG) does control the STAX label. I only have Isaac Haye's Hot Buttered Soul as a MoFi OOP STEREO SACD (and it SIZZLES) but I know Concord did release a number of Stereo only SACDs from STAX/FANTASY back in the day.

Would LOVE to hear those QUADS, though!

Colors of the Day - The Best of Judy Collins [SACD-Quad]

Boy, her music just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, like a 1972 sunny, summer day in central Illinois...laying in my bedroom, looking out across the oat fields blowing in the wind. I really have these memories, and they are wonderful.

:)

EDIT - more detail. Listening on my little red Realistic AM radio...to the BIG AM 89! WLS with Larry Lujack. Wow, those were the daze...@:

Boy, haven't listened to this in quite some time...not since I've had Foobar! :)

Love it Flaming LIps.jpg...
Scheiner rules!

What year was this released? I hear some Asia moments in the very first song....
Or maybe Asia sounds like Steve Hackett? :):)

"Spectral Mornings" came out in 1979, so by your logic, Asia sounds like Steve Hackett. ;)

Is this the AP reissue, or the Sony original you have on hand?

afaik, Lamb Lies Down and the bonus discs in the 3 (Green,Blue,Red) boxes were the only ones without a standalone release and even Lamb got an SACD+DVD-V standalone mini LP in Japan, iirc?

Mostly correct, but correct nonetheless. (y):sun

[ The LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY was available as a standalone, but in Japan only so for most of us that would be an import-expensive one at that !!]

And additionaly, no standalones were available from the Grey or White boxes, well until currently with 3. Sides Live BLU-RAY.

I soooooo very wanted that "Lamb" SACD/DVD back then but the price was some ¥¥¥¥¥¥¥ !!! ridiculous $100.00 + !!!

I'm over it now though . I do indeed blame Amazon for the persistent lies on the $400.00 SACD/DVD set preorder I was finally faced with cancelation in major frustration . I've learned from that negative experience. :chill
