All the best for your deployment, the time will fly by, and I hope you've some good music to listen to.

Well, I have some stereo FLAC I need to catch up on. I'm also taking my discs with "surround headphone" mixes, like Kraftwerk 3-D and some Monster SuperDiscs.
I'm also taking my concert DVDs, since they tend to sound best in lossless stereo anyway.

I carry all my surround stuff around on a 2 TB drive- even if you don't have speakers it's kind of to play with the files on a laptop, isolate channels, wear headphones and send fronts to right and rears to left, etc.

Best of luck over there.

Hearing 99 miles from LA on this Breakaway disc was a surprise to me...I thought it was a Johnny Mathis song...but it was actually was done by Albert Hammond in 1975 and it hit #1 on the Easy Listening Chart...I like the Mathis version better...but a nice job by Art..

Oh yea - Johnny's version is top shelf. Love to hear that one in quad... :violin

This just came in today and I gave it a listen - dualdisc from Silverline that I'd never heard of before. It's only in Dolby stereo and 5.1, no DVD-Audio. It's not clear from the disc, but the booklet states that all tracks are conducted by Don Jackson, with the London Symphony or London Philharmonic. Fun little disc, certainly worth the $4 I paid for it.

One weird thing...Don Jackson conducted a lot of these Silverline (and DTS) albums, but I can't find a word about him on the internet beyond his credits. I wonder if it's a pseudonym?

No...that's his real name...he has some bad reviews...like this one......I think discogs is confused or there is another Don Jackson...they list him as a British conductor..but he has worked on Silverline projects HERE
...this is why I don't think he a British conductor
