In an Oldfield mood today.... Overall nice mix on this one, although a couple of songs deviate a bit too much from the original versions. Unlike the other Oldfield titles, there's no poll for this one. Can we get one added?

Hmmm - guess I don't even know about this one......

came and went, for such a great boxset had little fanfare really,.. it sold out quickly, got reprinted, sold out again.. and since then, zip - that's all, folks! if you want one now you'll have to sell a body part! just make sure its one you don't really need, one with the Wife Approval Factor! 🤪

Listening to Billy Paul 360 Degrees/War DV SACD 4.0 . Cannot say enough great things about this perfect disc, if you havent got it yet why not?.

ok! i could resist no longer! its Billy Paul Quad time! :51QQ

"..i wanna say, thanks, DV,
for saving Quad's life,
for picking it up,
dusting it off,
putting it all back together.. together.. again..!!"

Your right and we are all doing it. I am kicking myself for not getting Toto IV and Avalon and now i have to pay

Don't feel bad...most of us went thru the same thing...when I joined in 2014 I had missed out on the big explosion of DVD-A and most of those were out of print and expensive...so I went to the polls and found the best and most expensive ones and bought those first...and I kept buying and buying...I actually paid $140 for a USED Aqualung Box Set(the one with the blu ray)...I must have bought and sold Avalon 4 times...started out with a very good condition and worked my way up to brand new....one thing to keep in mind...unlike downloads...physical discs have value...you can trade or sell for something else...if I had one advice to give to someone starting out...buy the best you can....don't stock up on a bunch of cheap ones....the top discs will always have value...

I looked at that one and passed because of the content...what do you think Ralphie?...it didn't generate enough interest here for a poll...

It doesn't have the 'gravitas' of Can't Slow Down but it's a solid effort with a so so 5.1 remix by Al Schmitt and contains the 'hit' Just For You. I only wish when Universal released "Can't Slow Down' on BD~A [in STEREO] they would've gone the extra distance and refreshed it with a new 5.1 remix. Oh well, Clinty! If you can find it cheap ..... why NOT?

Opps Ralphie...I do have that one...and I remember now that I wasn't crazy about the content...

I have a list a mile long of multichannel discs which I will probably never listen to again .... but at the time, some of them were SO cheap .... couldn't resist. Now, I try to be more SELECTIVE and do pass on Hi Res Surround discs which are hardly worthy of my 4~👂👂👂👂!

It still amazes me how the majors did pass on remixing hot titles which would've sold in droves in deference to so so ones that fizzled. Makes you wonder WHO is in charge of decision making at the majors?

BTW, as the Pupster is finding out .... there's a whole new world in multichannel Classical Recordings, both past and present, which are more than worthy of seeking out. Not only can they show off your system but they are melodious as well.

And the prices are WAY less expensive than paying outrageous prices for OOP DVD~As and SACDs.

Try it [them]. You might even surprise yourselves!

Don’t stop there, at least 2 more Masons that I know of, maybe the first DV Three-fer?

I'd buy multiple copies! It's Like You Never Left is my favorite of the three, but they're all pretty good. I'd love to hear what the discrete version of Split Coconut actually sounds like.

Here's some interesting talk re: a possible unreleased quad mix of Let It Flow. I hope it's true!
