Yes it is more a container than a replica sleeve. Just like the first Santana but I would argue the Super Session is simply a single lp sleeve and not like this.

I have the debut album and it looks exactly like this. The others in the series so far have the mini-lp sleeve format.

Going all the way back to Jeff Beck ~ Wired, released eight years ago, the sleeves for this series have been sized proportionally to the thickness of the bonus memorabilia & poster content.

Check it out, identical in thickness & construction to Santana I.

Borboletta is slightly thicker due to the book plus two 13 x 18 -inch posters folded three times each.

Soon everybody will have this in their hands to see for themselves.
The jury will decide if anyone wants to argue about what "container" versus "replica" means. ;)

Yikes! Mine is already in Norway - freaky fast by DHL! I can probably pick it up tomorrow.

I have no quibbles with that packaging. The original was a single sleeve, no gatefold. I have very high hopes for this one in surround though. It’s a step down from Welcome, but only a very small step, and musically it has the potential to be even better in surround.

Mine arrived yesterday DHL from Japan.
I got 4 items just opened the shipping box. Lots of protective packaging. Hope to be able to listen later this week.

For people who've received (and listened) to their discs, I'd be interested in a preliminary report about how much bass there is - the quad mix on Q8 was really bass-heavy, which seems to be a byproduct of the master tape, because the quad mix on Tidal was also really bassy. Has Sony Japan done any mastering to even things out?

Mine arrived today.
I'll give DHL, kudos, they don't hang about with their delivery timescale.
Yet to open the box.
Might save the grand opening to early December.
As my son may wish to give it to me for my birthday 🎂.
