Actually, the same packaging was used with the first Santana, Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow and Wired, Bloomfield/Cooper/Stills Super Session...They have changed the packaging. It is no longer a mini-lp sleeve but more of a cardboard box/wrapper
I think he's talking about the actual disc package (which looks like a slipcase), rather than the cardboard box they mailed it to him in.Actually, the same packaging was used with the first Santana, Jeff Beck's Blow by Blow and Wired, Bloomfield/Cooper/Stills Super Session...

I have the debut album and it looks exactly like this. The others in the series so far have the mini-lp sleeve format.
Yes it is more a container than a replica sleeve. Just like the first Santana but I would argue the Super Session is simply a single lp sleeve and not like this.
Mine also arrived! DHL from Japan to Oregon is freaky fast.DHL just dropped mine off. I will spin it later today.
What is delightful to me may be disappointing to you.For people who've received (and listened) to their discs, I'd be interested in a preliminary report about how much bass there is - the quad mix on Q8 was really bass-heavy, which seems to be a byproduct of the master tape, because the quad mix on Tidal was also really bassy. Has Sony Japan done any mastering to even things out?
