If supporting this release encourages Bryan Ferry and the rest of Roxy Music to remix/release at least some of their older catalog in Atmos, I'm all for it. Sure I'd prefer a Roxy Music release, but a lot of this material is not dissimilar to the latter day Roxy Music sound. In any case, it's packed release and should sound terrific.

The Atmos of Ferry's Retrospective is now on Tidal. The mixes are pretty good at the start and just keep getting better and better and better as the dates of the recordings progress.
I listened on Apple Music, and found the Atmos mixes to be good to excellent. However I felt the volume difference between tracks was a bit off, with some hotter than others. I'll be curious to see how this differs on the SDE physical release.

Was that on Tidal? That seems to be an ongoing problem with them where random tracks on an album are much louder than the rest. Very annoying! I haven't seen that issue on Amazon or Apple.

I experienced the change in loudness for Ferry's Retrospective on Apple Music via the Appel TV.4k.
I think that's that thing people call dialnorm (dialogue normalise? not really sure what it's short for) and appears to be present in both Apple (others' reports I've read) and Tidal (my experience). Some albums are more affected than others, often it's if the track is a streaming single from the album (that ends up being much louder, policy I imagine, the streaming service trying to give it extra oomph). Plus some albums overall need to be turned up more than others. I've got used to it and generally only find it annoying if the track is exceptionally louder.

Having said all that, I didn't experience too much in the way of dialnorm issues with this album on Tidal, just better atmos mixes as the album progressed. :)

I haven't rechecked it, but I don't remember having a major issue with this particular album either.
