Pete Townshend - White City (A Novel)

I wish I had the "guts" to go back to vinyl...I love the covers...but I know the novelty would wear off the first time I heard a Pop or Crackle.
Stick with pop-less and crackle-less releases! But i'm not gonna lie: there is something wonderful about holding a gatefold album, enjoying the graphics, and reading through the awesome listening notes as this beauty plays through the SM v.2 whilst i sit in the sweet spot of the quad room! It decodes wonderfully, and this particular pressing is pretty darn quiet (read: yes, i do hear the occasional pop and crackle!).

You are killing me...it would bring back a lot of memories for me...WAY back in the day...a time when I would go to a market and ask for the wooden crates that they were going to throw away...they usually held fruit....I would stain them and keep the LP's in there...and the LP's made a great way to separate the "stems from the seeds" by puting your "herb" on the cover and shaking it gently and the seeds would run downhill..:smokin

The biggest problem I have is trying to keep dust off the record. I can take an occasional pop here and there. A good record cleaning should help with keeping pops to a very minimum. I got back into buying vinyl a couple years back. If I could go back in time, I probably wouldn’t do it. Now that I’m stuck with a good stack of vinyl, I’m not looking back.

Now you're killing me! We have the same memories! Man, if i could i certainly would!! My LOVE of listening to music whilst in an altered state and then losing that through a stint in rehab is what eventually brought me to surround music. It's not the same, but it does get damn close . . . close enough to stem (and not seed) the tide of desire!
