I have this on Stereo SACD and LOVE IT!I joined a vinyl club to get a discount on some vinyl. Fine print says they send you their choice of vinyl every few weeks.......I canceled
So I present something I would have never bought

It's growing on me, but as much as I try, I am still stuck in the 70's music scene.
You inspired me to revisit another Smith caught live. This one is KILLER!If I had heard of Jimmy Smith before this month, I don’t remember. But after enjoying the Acoustic Sounds Verve release of Lightnin’ Strikes, I went looking for others in the series. Can’t say a lot of the titles grabbed me, but I streamed a bit of this one and decided to get the vinyl.

I listened to this about a 2 weeks ago. I hadn't played it in a few years. Great is an understatement.Embedding pics is very flakey for me...so just attached.
Bought this off ebay and it's not great condition (get a wooooph as it goes over warp and lots of crackle).
When I was a small child my grandad used to play Hammer-Nail to me. He had a National Panasonic Music Centre and it was probably my first experience of listening deliberately to music. He was a "difficult" man and died when I was 15. So those memories are probably the only nice ones I have of him. I've never owned this in any form until now.
It's a great album.
The original mix? That version of "No Quarter" is the best ever. And, I have heard A LOT of live recordings of that song.
Well, just put that on my "to play" list.In a statement unlikely uttered by anyone other than me... Slade on Stage is my favorite live album of all time.

Well, it took me 46 years to discover Strangers In The Night, so I look forward to listening!I have no idea why this album caught me the way it did to rocket to my top spot. I know most people will point to Alive! as their best live album, but except for one ballad, this one never lets up in an 80s hard-rock sort of way that I really liked. Plus... a cool fiddle solo!
