I cleaned off the dust, only to find this unplayable with too many pops, crackle, skipping, becoming stuck and repeating. Not to mention a rather large hump. This is the first album that has been unplayable out of all my albums awaking after a 50 yr slumber😟

Hurt throwing this into garbage

So I switched gears and am enjoying a rainy morning with......

Even being "hearing challenged", I played side 2, back to back for twice the enjoyment 😁

How interesting... I just ordered that LP an hour ago. Except for a best-of CD, I’ve never owned any of Al’s solo albums.

But I was buying an SACD from Acoustic Sounds this morning (Bad Company, Straight Shooter in their Atlantic 75 series) and wanted to bump up the price to get free shipping. So I got this one by Al and the first Allman Brothers album on vinyl.

(And I’m ignoring the fact that if I had just stuck to the SACD and paid shipping, it would have been cheaper than what I spent to get free shipping.)

I listened to this album all morning thru Apple music. Liked it so much, I just ordered my own copy. Not like your limited edition, just a plain ole great sounding black vinyl

Well, it took me 46 years to discover Strangers In The Night, so I look forward to listening!
I was 15 sat on a wall with my two mates listening to music on a portable tape deck. I had discovered ELO from them but they kept trying me with hard rock. As we go to go home I asked to borrow the two tapes.

Kiss Alive and Strangers In The Night. Initially Kiss hooked me but then Schenkers guitar started to talk to me. 45yrs later I spent my 60th birthday sat on a balcony watching the sea with Rock Bottom on repeat.

I didn't know as a teenager that that night would be life changing...no life defining.

This got a reissue last month. His last regular studio album I liked start to finish. As time went on, it was feeling like he was giving us the same album over and over. By the turn of the century, I had bailed out.

I agree, that's the last good one. Hmmm or is it really Trilogy :)

So about 5yrs ago I gave my nephew some records. I was then thinking of giving them all to him. Now I've bought a turntable and am back in the game.... hmmm...can I ask for them back?
I bet he doesn't listen to them.
:)
I did the same thing for my Goddaughter. She had discovered the Beatles, and i gifted her ALL of my Beatles slabs (among many, many others). She could have sold them for tuition!
