Did you hear the original Santana lineup is releasing Santana IV April of 2016, this will be killer and wouldn't it be great if AF could jump in on the action.

It depends on if there are any Santana albums mixed in Quad or 5.1 that aren't under license to another record label for SACD reissue.
"Abraxas", "Caravanserai", and the self-titled album (lion) are already snatched up by Mobile Fidelity.

MF do not have Welcome or the live album licensed. I would love AF to release them. There's a couple of others they could do as well.

MFSL have more Santana albums licensed (locked up) than the titles currently announced. In other words, just about everything if off the table for AF. There is only one album that they can consider.

Okay I see. That is a real shame.

That one album being... G. Hits Quad?

Or one of the live Quads... Live! w/Buddy Miles? Lotus?

Or one of the collaborations.. Illuminations w/Alice Coltrane? Love Devotion Surrender w/McLaughlin?

Sod it lets just have Azteca in Quad and be done with it! :D

It would just be cool to have something in this vein on Surround SACD from AF..
it is saddening/maddening MFSL have effectively, whether they're even aware of it or not, scuppered AF's chances of getting any of these wonderful Quads out.

Mofi has already released Love Devotion Surrender, just finished listening to it.
Interesting album, not the greatest recording.

If Mofi has locked up most of Santana's music they sure are taking their sweet time ( what else is new....)
Other than the aforementioned LDS all they have managed to release on SACD is Caravanserai (although SACDs of Santana and Abraxas are supposedly coming).

Oh right, I've no idea what MFSL are doing these days as I have boycotted them (I may be cutting my nose off to spite my face but I will only start buying their stuff again if they start releasing some surround.. they can take as long as they like to get product out but I won't be buying it if its stereo-only when there's a Quad or 5.1 mix available.. I realise I may have a long wait for them to ever release any MultiCh but that suits me) anyway Love Devotion Surrender sounds very good in Quad to me, I've no experience of the album in Stereo but I guess the remix may have improved the sound somewhat by going back to the multi's as is so often the case and was also a phenomenon back in the Quad era.

I hope before I die I hear Deram's catalog of Ten Years After in surround, not just A Space In Time, all that did was make me want more. And Capricorns catalog of The Marshall Tucker Band, then I will lie down content.

These Edgar Winter titles are budget-priced on CD. If AF can't get budget-priced stuff to put out as full-priced SACDs, they aren't trying very hard.

Most of the time it has nothing to do with Audio Fidelity. It's other record labels and artists that put up roadblocks to certain releases, so all Audio Fidelity can do is work with what they can work with.

I just have to believe The Allman Brothers Band, Eat A Peach, is in the works, speaking of Capricorn? It's a no brainer, half of it is already mixed in 5.1 BD-A.

I'm sure it will happen within the next year or so. The question is would they use the older 5.1 mix originally on SACD or have Kevin Reeves create a new 5.1 mix? After hearing what he was able to do on "Idlewild South", I'm seriously hoping for the latter! :)

Or they could use the "quad" mix.

I'm certain that the Quad mix would not be included instead of any 5.1 mix. It would probably be released alongside a 5.1 mix if they did decide to include it, which would be the best way of doing it. 2 surround mixes (one Quad and one 5.1) on the same Blu-Ray disc! :)

Perhaps, and ideally yes.

But this is a AF suggestion release , so QQ'S "Epalladin's" quad mix would be most welcome.:):)

That's right. If the record label and artist approvals aren't available, that ends the process.
And it's time to move on to another possible title.
