...others aren't convinced; I'm on the fence. I find that the height channels consist mostly of fronts and rears doubled at lower volume and/or with added reverb. It makes for an "immersive" experience, I guess, but it's more "enhanced 5.1" than "reimagined-for-Atmos." YMMV...
If that's the case, I can probably get 92% of the way there just by up-mixing the existing 5.1

Prices dropping...

Being hella poor for the better part of a year, now, has helped me get over a lot of multichannel release FOMO.

When an Atmos mix isn’t that much more exciting experience than an existing 5.1, and the Atmos is expensive, it’s an easy pass, at this point.
Sorry to hear that bro...so, are we thinking the Atmos will be tame on this release?

I’m happier than ever, so don’t be overly concerned! But I appreciate compassion. The world needs more of it.

Brother, I’ve been there and it’s worth it. My odyssey to grad school started right after I got out of the Army as a Spec 5. Truly a lot of belt tightening but life changing stuff. Aside from marrying my wife it’s the best decision I ever made!
