I don't know Steve...if you are going to follow Gos's path...you will need to post some selfies
I didn't place an order for the box set...but I had the vinyl version in my cart via ImportCD's. I was hoping they would give me a $5 discount trying to get me to finish the order...but alas....1st user vinyl review I've seen on SHF is extremely positive

You mean 269 ? And yes, I just posted it here, above your post in fact.
I Shall Be Released begins in the left rear !!! Bob Clearmountain did a beautiful job. I'm covered in goosebumps.
But do your teeth feel OK?
Kinda flies in the face of the review posted here earlier, thank god.
And Myke or MikeZ
Mine arrived from Walmart this morning, and I'm loving it !!!!
When Tears Of Rage began, I was afraid it was going to be front-heavy. I even put my ear up to both rear speakers, and only heard the faintest of echoes. But then, the rears do come into use, and have stayed in use since.
On Caledonia Mission now, and the rears are being used for the piano, and organ.
On The Weight, Levon's drums come from the center channel, with everything else coming from the other 4 speakers.
We Can Talk opens in the rear speakers, and uses them for the vocals throughout, along with the fronts, and center.
Long Black Veil opens in the center, tuba in the rears, harmonies in the fronts.
I'll be happy with what you described...BUT...I'm sure the "instrument police" might not like the drums being in the center..or this instrument being over here or thereanything but what they "imagine" it should be kinda throws them for a loop...thanks for the early report...now Milt can relax and open up his package as soon as it arrives
And...GOS will wonder why he didn’t order it...

Who knows he didn't say. But it's kind of hard for me to believe that Bob Clearmountain's mastering would be that radically skewed depending on format or number of channels. That review probably wasn't for the surround version
