I found this review in SHF: https://audiophilereview.com/audiop...-anniversary-remix-part-1-surround-sound.html
It's the first one I read that provides a good description of the surround mix (I hope all reviews, including mine, were as descriptive as this one)
Nice review. Based on the description, I would expect something in the vein of TWA mix, nothing radically new or different in the surround mixing approach.

What I am still confused about is whether the Atmos mix is completely different from the 5.1 DTS mix, or is an extension of the same mix. Based on one earlier preview, I was kind of getting the feeling the Atmos mix would be an unfocused echoey mess, but maybe that’s not the case at all.

Here's the deal:

You're all (and me too) excited about this release, so Ryan will indeed create the poll thread right away for tomorrow's release day. However, please make note. Only post there to give your thoughts and impressions on the audio of the release. Any post with shipping info, funny pictures, comments that do not apply to the release or someone else's comments about the audio, anything that is purely conversational without regard to the music or mix will be DELETED IMMEDIATELY (or whenever we get to it).

All of that other stuff can go in this thread. OK?

Also, before you all leap off the mountain and vote a '10' before you even listen to the whole thing, please restrain yourself and listen to the whole thing, at least a FEW times, before you vote. Sure, you can jump into the thread and write about your listening experience, plus or minus, before you actually vote, but at least digest the mix and all before you vote. Remember, people will be reading these posts "many years from now".

THANKS

PS - There will be 2 polls, one for the 5.1, and one for the ATMOS. Comment and vote on the decode you are listening too, and don't post venom in the Atmos poll if you don't like, don't have, or don't want anything to do with Atmos.

K?

If I do not get my Abbey Road Deluxe Box Set on the 27th as promised by Amazon.com, I will personally take the former Mrs. Bezos out for a drink and convince her to go back to court for more money from her ex.
I will play "You Never Give Me Your Money" until she agrees to my demand.
He better not ruin my birthday, which is Saturday. I plan on listening to the bluray at the stroke of midnight on Friday night. Ya hear that, Jeff?
I showed your post to MacKenzie when we woke up this morning. She wants to know if you have a full head of hair.

This is the new video they released this morning. Some very nice pictures and use of the very last film footage, shot by Linda.
Sure does sound nice! The new mix of Oh Darling is hard panned, so maybe the 5.1 will be similar...
I'm just excited to hear the toms on Something. :LB

Saw a guitar strung left handed and sometimes forget that Paul played a lot of guitar and is a left handed player also.
